Chapter 6

As Allumos was distracted with his thoughts of Kai, he didn't notice someone calling out to him. He looked up, startled, seeing some of his guild members and realised he was now in his newly-built guild as the previous one was destroyed.

"Huh? Oh, sorry. I was a bit distracted with something," Allumos apologised. The guild members, Viper, Seek and Colin, looked at him skeptically and suspiciously.

"What were you even thinking about so hard that you didn't notice us?" Viper questioned, frowning.

"Oh uh... nothing. Just someone," Allumos replied.

"Someone? Who?" Colin asked.

"Well, someone I just met. He didn't have a place to stay so I offered to get him one if he worked for our guild for repayment," Allumos answered, deciding to tell them about Kai.

"And I'm guessing... he didn't accept it?" Seek assumed.

Allumos nodded.

"But what's that got to do with you thinking about him so hard?" Viper added, sounding a bit frustrated.

"I don't know. I'm just worried about him for some reason," Allumos replied looking away, sounding a bit annoyed.

"Um... how about we just stop here and leave the conversation there?" Seek said, afraid of Allumos' tone.

"Hah... Alright, fine. We'll just leave it at that," Viper finally decided to drop the conversation.

"Another-oh. Uh... h-hi... Who... are you?" Seek paused mid-conversation with someone and asked the new, unknown stranger, stuttering nervously.

"I'm acquainted with your guild leader," Kai answered in a deadpan manner.

"Guild leader?" Seek repeated, confused.

"Is this the new Grimshade Guildhall?" Kai questioned him, looking at the huge, towering building. There were two big dragon statues on either side of the huge building. The exterior of it was made out of deep, dark red bricks as well as white quartz slabs that separates the different floors of the building. There were also dark oak wood stairs that leads to the entrance of it and a big logo that represents the Grimshade guild.

"Uh yea, this is the new Grimshade. A-Allumos, w-we have a visitor," Seek replied and called for Allumos. Kai could hear a 'Yes, yes, coming!' from inside the building, recognising the owner of the voice to be none other than Allumos.

"A-Allumos is coming shortly. Uh... Oh, you can come in if you... want," Seek added.

"Sure," Kai agreed. He then walked into the guild and saw Allumos standing in front of a staircase that leads to the second floor. He stared at Kai in shock as soon as he saw him.

"Kai?" Allumos questioned.

"That's me," Kai replied.

"I honestly didn't expect to see you here," Allumos added.

"Well, here I am. I'm here to accept your offer," Kai said, referring to the offer Allumos gave him when they first met.

"That's good to hear," Allumos smiled in relief.

"Ahem, who's this?" Viper asked as he walked down the stairs from the upper floor and stood next to Allumos.

"Ah, right. This is Kai, the person I talked about before. To the right of me, we have Viper, my second-in-command and Poison Dragon Slayer, Marsh, a Transformation Wizard, and Seek, a new member and Light Dragon Slayer," Allumos looked at Viper and replied to him. He then turned to Kai and introduced everyone.

"It's a pleasure to meet you guys," Kai said while bowing slightly as a greeting, a habit he got as a prince when greeting others.

"Ah, i-it's a pleasure to meet you too"
"It's nice to meet you too"
"The pleasure is all mine"
Seek, Marsh and Colin replied while Viper just nodded.

They started discussing about Allumos' offer and Kai agreed to his terms of helping the guild with things that they request except for shady or suspicious requests. Of course, this doesn't mean that Kai is a part of their guild.
