The sound of footsteps clomping on the solid ground. Piercing and loud deafening screams were heard. Jayden and Soren took Alakai to a temporary safe place. Jayden opened a portal for Alakai to enter but he shook his head side to side, refusing to enter. Then, they heard loud whirring of wings flapping. The demons are approaching their direction.
"Go Kai, you have to leave, now!" Jayden ordered. "I'm sorry.. This is goodbye for now, Kai.." Jayden pushed Alakai into the portal and it closed as soon as he entered. The last thing Alakai saw before the portal fully closed was his older brother and best friend preparing to fight.
A portal opened up and Alakai fell from the sky. He was caught off guard but with his quick reflexes, he landed safely and perfectly. Alakai was only taught basic magic to protect himself but wasn't taught how to hide his species' features using magic so hiding them with his clothes was no easy feat. Since hybrids like him were extremely rare, maybe even legendary, if he were seen with them, people would want to capture him. Then unfortunately, the worse thing happened; Alakai (who was 10 years old then) got kidnapped. The kidnappers took Alakai, who was blindfolded, to an unknown location. They then took off his blindfold and they seemed to be in an abandoned wooden house. Alakai could see the sight of the basement's worn wooden stairs. The dim-lit house was like the Sahara desert on a cold night. Old, shredded curtains hung from windows and every movement sent a vortex of dust into the previously stagnant air. They chained Alakai to a metal pole using chains and he struggled to let loose of them.
"Don't even try getting out, you weird monster or you'll get what's coming," One of the kidnappers grunted. Alakai sadly looked and thought, 'why has my life come to this? Will I have to be stuck here forever? Someone please help me'.
