The morning light filtered softly through the curtains of Raghav's room, casting a warm glow on the walls. He had finally managed to fall asleep in the early hours, but it was a restless sleep, filled with fragmented dreams that left him more tired than when he had gone to bed.

The alarm clock buzzed quietly on his nightstand, pulling him from the depths of sleep. Raghav reached out a heavy hand to silence it, blinking groggily as he tried to shake off the remnants of his dreams. He lay there for a few moments, staring up at the ceiling, the events of the previous night replaying in his mind. Dinner had been a struggle, and even now, the thought of Kavya sitting so close to him, yet feeling so distant, sent a wave of melancholy washing over him.

With a deep sigh, Raghav forced himself out of bed. He had always been a creature of habit, and this sunday morning was no different. He moved through his routine with mechanical precision, each task a small step toward preparing himself for the day ahead.

He showered, letting the warm water soothe his tense muscles, and then dressed in his usual attire—crisp, well-pressed trousers and a button-up shirt. His reflection in the mirror showed the same face he had seen every day for years, the same quiet eyes, the same calm demeanor. But there was something else there too, a weariness that had settled in overnight, a tiredness that went deeper than physical exhaustion.

Raghav combed his hair back, smoothing it down with practiced ease, and then adjusted his collar. He looked every bit the successful professional he was supposed to be, but inside, he felt like a shadow of himself.

By the time he made his way downstairs, the house was already awake. The smell of breakfast wafted through the air, and he could hear the faint sound of his mother humming in the kitchen.

Raghav paused at the top of the staircase, his hand resting lightly on the banister. He could hear voices coming from the hall below—his father's deep, steady tone, and Aryan's lighthearted chatter. But it was the third voice that caught his attention, the one that made his heart skip a beat.

Kavya.

She was here again. It wasn’t unusual for her to drop by early, especially when she and Aryan had plans for the day. But knowing she was here, just a few steps away, made Raghav hesitate. Part of him wanted to retreat back to the safety of his room, to avoid the awkwardness he knew would follow. But he knew he couldn’t do that forever.

Taking a deep breath, Raghav descended the stairs, each step measured and deliberate. As he reached the bottom, the voices became clearer, and he could see the three of them seated in the living room, deep in conversation.

Kavya was perched on the edge of the couch, her posture relaxed, her face alight with amusement as she listened to something Aryan was saying. She was dressed casually today, in a soft blue kurti paired with white leggings, her hair tied back in a loose braid. The simplicity of her outfit only highlighted her natural beauty, and Raghav found himself captivated, unable to look away.

For a moment, he just stood there, unnoticed, taking in the scene before him. Kavya's laughter rang out, bright and clear, filling the room with warmth. It was a sound that seemed to chase away the lingering shadows of the night, if only for a brief moment.

But then his father noticed him standing there and called out to him. "Raghav, good morning! Come join us."

Raghav forced a smile and walked over to the dining room. "Morning, Dad." He kept his gaze fixed on his father, trying to ignore the fluttering in his chest that came from being in Kavya’s presence.
