Bonus Story - The Night At Camp (Horror)

 It is an enchanting night.

I lay on my back, staring at Night's children merrily dancing across Her dark robes. Three of my closest friends bicker amongst themselves next to me--shattering the peaceful moment of bliss I was enjoying.

"Vanessa, for the love of God, don't kick me!". Anna wails aloud.

Vanessa kicks her anyways and they proceed to fight like street cats. I rise up and bid them all goodbye--heading for the little cabin tucked away in the little woods.

Noelle asks me, "Asmita, today is the last day of our camping. Won't you stay here a little longer?"

I shake my head in denial. "Too tired".

She smiles in a sage sympathy. Noelle walks up to me, saying "Then, I shall accompany you".

I don't argue--after all my irrational fear of ghosts convinces me not to.

The two of us tread in the little path lined by cobblestones. A shiver runs down my spine--as if a spectral finger traced my back.
Flinching, I turn around.
"Noelle?", my voice trembles with a frantic fear. "D-Don't play with me".

A twig faintly snaps to my left.
My head turns to the direction of sound. A familiar silhouette appears in my field of vision.
"Oh God, Noelle there you--"
It's gone.
The silhouette disappears in thin air.
A choking noise builds up in my throat. Fears ravage my mind and a stream of tears stain my cheeks.

Asmita...
I'm here... ri g h t h e re...
N ex t to you..
Com e h e r e...
A s m i t a...

Scream rips out of my lungs and adrenaline gushes through my blood.
I run. I don't look back.
Run. Keep running.

My foot snags in a branch and I fall face first on the moist ground.
No. Not moist.
Wet, streaming with a warm and thick liquid.
Blood.
I straight away recognise the pungent smell of iron.
Along with a foul odour. And, multiple buzzing sounds.
My eyes travel yonder ahead.

"N-Noelle?". I whisper in horror.
There she lies on the forest floor in a pool of blood. Her flesh decomposing and has become an abode for maggots. Hundreds of them. Twisting and writhing through her skin.
While, flies buzz around feasting upon her body.
Unable to hold myself any longer, I retch. Next to her corpse--I threw up.

I stumble in a half-daze.
A laugh echoes through my hollow chest.

Two other familiar and beloved bodies lay in a similar fashion.
I have gone crazy.
This is all dream.
My hands rake through my face in confusion--smearing blood, mud and God knows what else.
I felt blood draining out of me. Seeping all the life.
Everything blacks out, as I soon thud down.

My eyes flutter open.
Am I alive? I can't tell.
There are stitches all over my flesh.

Anna, Noelle and Vanessa stand next to the bed upon which I lay--covered in patches of discoloured skin stitched in places. Like a piece of rag outfit.

They all have an eerie wide smile on the face.
Large, chipped teeth hangs loosely from their maw.

"Welcome back". Their voices speak in a monotonous unison.

A/N: Sorry guys. Idea had struck me so hard that I was forced to add a horror story to a collection of rational poems. Comment if you sh!!!t your pants.

Enjoy,

Lots of Love,

Asmita
