10 - Maximum Effort

Uraraka stood in the arena with her eyes closed as Present Mic announced the next round's opponents, blocking out the noise from the crowd as she did her best to calm herself down and prepare for the beating she was about to receive.

"Maximum effort..." she muttered to herself before looking up at Bakugo in front of her, getting ready as Present Mic announced the beginning of the match.

"LET THE EIGHTH MATCH BEGIN!!!"

She immediately charged towards Bakugo, keeping his right arm in mind as she ran. Bakugo prepared himself as she got closer and closer, sweeping his arm up as he ignited the nitroglycerin to cover his front in explosions, being aware of his usual right hook starter.

As Bakugo swung his arm, Uraraka jumped up and over Bakugo, using her zero gravity quirk to allow her to leap higher and avoid the explosion before releasing herself.

His head snapped above him, unable to see clearly as the smoke obscured his vision but a shadow of Uraraka's figure was coming down on him as he pointed his arm up, blasting her with an explosion.

As the smoke cleared from the new explosion, he realized that what he hit wasn't actually Uraraka, but instead her jacket. Turning his head around, he saw Uraraka rushing towards him from behind, touching his jacket as he began to float.

Spinning around he aimed his hand toward her, igniting the nitroglycerin on the palm of his hand right as she sent her fist across his face, knocking each other back.

As Bakugo floated away from Uraraka, he quickly undid his jacket, letting it float away as he dropped back to the ground. Getting himself back up, he prepared himself for an attack from any angle, unable to see through the smoke.

(Y/N) watched the match go on as Uraraka ignored her injuries and got back up, picking up some stones from the ground and tossing them into the smoke towards Bakugo as explosions erupted from the centre.

Bakugo was completely on guard, attacking anything that came at him. A rock came in from his right as he quickly turned, holding his hand up before blasting it away.

Uraraka reappeared through the smoke as his other hand was already guarding his back, igniting the nitroglycerin on his hand, and sending her flying back through the smoke.

The entire crowd watched anxiously as the fight went on, with Uraraka barely being able to land any sort of attacks besides the hook across his face at the beginning. (Y/N) knew the outcome of this match, but even then, he held onto hope that this time things would be different.

He clenched the handlebars of the stadium with Normal (Y/N) standing beside him, watching Bakugo consistently defend against Uraraka's attempts at attacking him.

Looking up, Normal (Y/N) noticed chunks of rocks floating in the air, realizing what her plan was as his confidence was quickly restored, "She's got this."

'I hope so.'

A large explosion occurred as Uraraka was sent flying away from Bakugo with the smoke clearing away with a gust of wind. Bakugo was winded as the strain of constantly igniting the nitroglycerin took its toll on his arms.

Uraraka laid on the arena floor, looking up at the sky, seeing all the debris she had accumulated before rolling over, and forcing herself back up. Taking a deep breath, she placed her focus on Bakugo before charging forward, clapping her hands together as she released all the debris blown up by Bakugo.

A rock dropped beside him as he looked up for a moment, seeing the massive collection that was raining down on him, he quickly put his arms together, releasing one gigantic explosion up into the sky right as Uraraka was about to reach him.
