Riley didn't know when she fell in love with writing. She wanted to become a writer who could write a story that could captivate readers. Riley wrote about everything down in her diaries. Shs had a diarie for every year.

Riley was writing in her hidden section of the library. In riley's second year, she found a hidden room all the way in the back of the library. The room was mysterious. It was the only part of the castle that magic wasn't allowed. When she entered, Riley felt like a muggle because the room didn't allow magic in. It was in its own world.

She liked to keep things to herself. Throughout the years, she had decorated the small room. When you entered, the first thing you would see was the painting that Riley had painted the wall. It took a long day and night to complete. Around the walls of the room, a field of flowers and at the door was the sun. She had bean bags at one corner with snacks. The room had a circular window at the far back. She had put her desk there. The room had fairy lights. Book shelves against the walls with her own collection of books.

She put her quill down when she heard muffled voices behind the door. She put her head against as she drew closer.

"You said she was here, Moony?"

"Well, she is or was!"

"Your nose abilities suck, Remus!"

"My nose works perfectly fine, Sirus."

"Shut up!"

James stood between the arguing friends. " she's the only one not showing up. Where is she?"

Riley was amused. She wasn't going to tell anyone about this, even them. She decided to stay silent.

"Well, we looked everywhere, and my nose is leading us here."

James was annoyed. He wanted to talk to her before she saw the pamphlet. Maybe his eyes did wander. But it was Lily, the person he had fallen over heels since the first year. Was he supposed to forget that? James didn't mean to hurt her feelings. James thought Riley was pretty and a nice good friend, but he wouldn't hurt her by using her to make Lily jealous. When he was with Riley, it was a different feeling from Lily. James was fixated on her the whole time she talked with her hands. He would search for her in the room to find her staring back. James was in Trance when he was with Riley like they were the only ones. In their own world. But Lily was his everything. Riley was just a small feeling that could mean nothing.

James was staring mindlessly until Remus nudged him. They were leaving the library.

Riley crept back from the door when she heard them leave. Riley didn't like how close they were with her so quickly. They were trailing Ducklings.

Riley packed her stuff before exiting her spot. She was walking out the library when she saw the trio waiting against the wall.

"Riley!" Sirus shout before greeting her with an arm around her shoulder. " I have missed you."

"I can see," she said as she moved away from under his arm.

"Where were you?" James eyed the girl who came out of the library.

"James, in the library, as always." She smiled. " Well, I shall get going, tooties, Marauders." She gave them a wave before leaving.

James walked up to trail beside her. The walk was silent, but Riley didn't mind.

"I'm sorry about the date." He stated as he slipped his hands in his trousers. "I was a fat jerk that day, Riles."

Riley stared ahead. " It's fine, don't worry, James," she simply stated before giving him a reassured grin. "I know you love Lily, I should expect it."

James stopped walking. Riley stopped walking and looked over her shoulder.

"James?"

"I have to go." James swerved around.

Riley Stowe didn't know what she did. She was quite confused as she made it to her room.

Riley was confused about James the most. She wondered if James was mad? She didn't think she said anything wrong, but who knows.

Riley put her pj's and crept into her bed. It was only seven but she was quite tired. She would rather waste her evening sleeping than socializing and chatting.
