Riley was quite confused when James Potter started to avoid her. Riley didn't mind being alone, but she got used to the Marauders trailing her like Ducklings. Riley complained, but it was all in fun. She never meant it.

Riley is alone again, but she has her white cat to her keep company, so she was alright.

Miffy was walking with her to the Great Hall when the cat ran behind her. Riley swerved around to find the Marauders. Miffy stretched herself on Sirus Black.

She smiled at them but they gave a stiff smile. James held no greeting towards.

"Is there a problem, James?"

Riley was quite fit up with the avoidance of the boys. James crosses his arms.

"Nope."

Riley crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. " Why are you guys avoiding me then? Have I done something?" She eyed them. " Remus? Does anyone want to speak up." Riley sees them looking at James Potter.

James Potter looked at the girl in front of him. He didn't know why he was avoiding the girl after befriending her. But James felt like Riley was making him confused about Lily. James had to keep away from her because Lily was finally warming up to him. Lily and Severus won't last. The next thing that came out of his mouth was mixed with frustration towards the girl who confused him.

"We don't owe you an explanation." James said short. " Why would we be friends with a deatheater's daughter?" James spat with disgusted.

Riley gulped. She felt embrassed to stand there. " And you?" She looked at the others.

Sirus Black came beside James and leaned on his shoulder. " We only hung out because Remus felt pity for you." He causally said. "You will just end up like your father, Stowe. A deatheater." He sneers

Remus and Peter stay silent. They loved Riley, but the Marauders always stuck together. They owe James that for the saves he's done for them, too.

Riley flicked a lock of her hair behind her ear and stood up straight. She eyed them with no sorrow or tears.

They waited for her reaction. They were nervous as she took an inhaled and exhaled.

"Okay." She simply replied like it was nothing. She swerved around to walk in the Great Hall

James let out a yelp as he felt claws digging into his leg.

Miffy let out a real growl at the four boys before catwalking away with her white tail up.

Remus was the first to speak. " What the hell, guys?!" He stood in front of James and Sirus. " I love you guys, but that was not fair."

James shrugged. " She was quite fine, wasn't she?"

Remus eyes almost popped out of his face." Fine?!"

"Like you said anything, Moony?!" James snapped." You stood there like a idiot."

James shoved past him into the Great Hall. The Marauders followed him in aside Remus, who lost his appetite due to guilt.

Riley sat alone at the end of the Gryffindor table. She was holding her fork. She kept stabbing the food. Rileys hand shook. She lifted her cup with quiver.

Riley filled her plate. She ate and ate. Food helped her stabilize herself. Riley kept eating, but she didn't notice when tears slipped her eyes. She had her head she ate.

Lily Evan didn't know about a lot of Riley Stowe, but she usually saw her with the Marauders, but not today. She sat alone at the end of the Gryffindor.

Lily, during dinner, would look over to the girl eating too quickly. She was quick to fill her mouth. Lily saw her head down, and from her distance, she could see something liquid dripping above. Lily frowned. She interrupted Marlene to excuse herself. The girls all stare at Lily sit beside Riley.

Riley eyes dripped with tears and looked at Lily comforting smile.

"I can give you a hug, Stowe, you look like you need it." Lily offered.

Riley was heartbroken. She was really fine being alone but she had finally made friends. Or so she thought.

Riley and Lily hugged. No one questioned why. It was a bittersweet scene.

James was nudged by Sirus. James eyes followed his eyes to a Lily comforting a crying Riley. James eyes made contact with Riley teary eyes as she was wrapped around Lily. He saw Riley thank Lily quickly before leaving the Great Hall.

"You better tell us why we stomped on her," Sirus scolded before getting up. "And it better be good, James."

Peter follows after Sirus, leaving James Potter with his thoughts, and Riley.
