An upbeat reggaeton song was playing softly through the apartment as Alexia finished her set of push-ups in the middle of the living room. Nala, her dog, sat across from her, attention divided between her mom and the commotion outside the window. Alexia sighed tiredly as she got up, putting her hands on her hips and leaning her head back to crack her back. Nala followed, wagging her tail as she approached the blonde's feet and quickly lay down on her back.

"Tired of watching me?" She bent down caressing the dog's fur. "You are so spoiled, aren't you?" As a response, Nala started rolling over herself making Alexia giggle.

The blonde picked up her sweat towel and walked to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Off-season didn't mean she stopped the training plans here and there, she took her time to relax and enjoy the holidays and still found time in her weeks to train even for short sessions.

She finished her shower and changed into some comfortable home clothes. She didn't plan to leave the house, opting for a cozy day in, just watching television and snuggling with Nala. This, of course, wouldn't go as planned when she heard a loud knock on her door and knew that only one person dared to be this obnoxious.

Setting her bowl of granola down, she walked to the door with a straight face. Nala quickly caught up, wagging her tail and whole body with excitement as she recognized the scent she was sniffing under the door.

Alexia opened the door, almost getting hit by it, as the person barged in without the need to be invited. The taller blonde rolled her eyes, closing the door behind her as Mapi was already bent down petting Nala.

"How are you, you little devilish piece of fur? We're finally friends, aren't we? Yes, we are." Mapi said in a childish voice that for Alexia fitted the woman's personality.

"Hi to you too. How are you? Can I come in?" Alexia annoyingly said, walking back to her couch and grabbing her granola. "Yes, you can? I'm good and you?"

Mapi rolled her eyes, a mocking expression on her face as she stood up and went to sit on the empty spot next to her friend. "Talking to yourself and everything. Isolation does that to people." Alexia rolled her eyes again. "That's why I'm here! Hola, mi amor. How are you? Happy, now that I came to brighten up your day."

"Of course, exactly what I was thinking." Alexia teased but quickly let a smile escape when Mapi engulfed her in a side hug, poking her ribs. "So, what do I owe your visit?"

"Well, I didn't have anything to do and Ingrid is not back yet."

"Clearly, you're having too much free time."

"Stop. I miss her a lot, that's true. I count the days until she's back and feel out of place when she's not." Alexia pouted at her, ready to tease her friend.

"Look at you, Maria." She poked Mapi's cheeks. "Who would've thought you'd be like this."

"Love just hadn't hit me for real yet. Now it has. And let me tell you, once it hits you you'll be like this or worse."

"I won't be looking for it for a while. Or ever." Alexia rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to the TV and her granola.

"Amiga, stop. Plus, you won't need to go look for it. It finds you, don't worry." Mapi leaned back, taking off her shoes and putting her feet on top of Alexia's legs.

"Hopefully not, thank you. I've had my share." The blonde said bitter, setting down her now empty bowl.

"Please, Alexia. Someone so fucking great will find you and you won't even remember anything that happened before them. Nor even your own name from all that out-of-the-world lovemaking." Alexia side-eyed her friend who had a thoughtful look on her face, clearly thinking about her own experience. "For real."
