Leone's POV

I stood in the hall, feeling royally pissed. There's some weird forcefield like thing stopping me from getting to all the members of the pack. They are completely unresponsive. I began to slam my fists against the field, wanting it to come down. It didn’t budge even a little. It's obvious someone wants to keep everyone away, but me, I'm not going to stop trying to get to her. It began to get hard to breathe, my throat burning, burning, willing air to enter my lungs again i could feel everything that’s happening to her from the tiny stabbing pains in my arms and back to the choking. I slammed my fists on the field again, wanting to rip it to shreds to get to her. I sighed, feeling utterly useless. Black smoke exploded, creating a blinding white light. I used my hands to block the light, expecting someone to come out. No one did. Please don’t tell me she’s dead! I used my crutches to run into the room. Hail laid sprawled on the ground next to a smoldering pile of ash. The vampire, she killed him, but how? “Mate,” my wolf growled from within me.

“Max!” I shouted through mind link, calling my younger brother through mind link.

“Reporting Alpha," he said, fake sulting at me. he took a few seconds to look at the area around us. “What happened?” he asked.

“That doesn’t matter at the moment. Pick her up and take her to the infirmary," I said, using my crutches to pick myself up. He bent down and gently picked her up. He smiled down at her for a few seconds.

“Who is she?” he asked.

“My Luna,” I said, walking next to him with a small smirk on my face

I passed along the the room hoping, with all that I have that Hail would wake up. It's been nearly two hours since she’s moved.

“Urg,” I heard Eone groan from behind the white curtain. “Aw, fuck!” he groaned, looking at the large gaping hole in his chest and the bloody once white shirt. he begun to rub his head looking at the blood-filled sack connected to his arm.

“Thank goodness your okay," I hissed, walking to him-of course, with the aid of my crutches. I held his face in my hands, a smile on my face.

“What happened to Hail?” he asked, worry staining his voice.

“I have no idea. She’s not waking up," I said, looking at Hail. She didn’t move. She barely even breathed. The heart monitoring system would go off every few seconds due to the fact that she’s barely breathing. Every twenty to thirty seconds, her chest rose and fell.

“Don't worry about her breathing cycle. Vampires barely breathe,” he said, causing me to calm down. “She looks so weak and frail ” he said, a frown on his face. He walked over to Hail and stroked her cheek. It felt as if she’d never wake up.

“You know what I just realized?”

“What’s that?” he asked.

“We we barely know much about her," I said, looking down at her.

“If anything, we know nothing," Eone replied.

Hail has still not woken up. She barely even breathes, although she’s alive and still technically living in the pack house. Leone comes to visit her each and every day. Many of the doctors tell him it’s time to let her go that there's no point in keeping her alive, but he doesn't feel like it would be right. Eone also comes to visit her each and every day, no matter how hard it is to find time, but he always makes it. He spends a bunch of time sleeping by her bedside, just hoping she would wake up, but nothing ever changes. She never moves and never reacts to anything. It almost seems as if she’s gone forever. Her laugh, her smile, the sparkle in her eyes, all gone, never to be seen again. Eone has taken over the throne and is enforcing a rule of kindness and respect, just like Hail would have wanted.
