King Zoryan II, dressed in his royal attire, entered the grand court alone, his three sons following behind.
The room was grand, with high ceilings decorated with intricate gold trimmings. The windows were large, allowing sunlight to stream in and illuminate the room.
The king took his place on the throne, his sons standing behind him.
And indeed, a group of young women were brought into the room, each one scared and apprehensive as they were put on display.
The king looked down on the women, his expression impassive. He surveyed the women's faces, taking in their youth and beauty.
Behind the throne, the three princes stood, also observing the women. The crown prince, his expression unreadable as usual, scanned the women quickly, his gaze almost detached.
The youngest prince watched with open curiosity, his eyes wide and fixed on the women.
The grand prince, on the other hand, was stone-faced, his eyes cold. He took in the sight of the frightened women but showed no reaction, his stoic mask firmly in place.
The king raised his hand and the murmuring in the room died down. He turned his gaze to the women, his voice resounding through the room. "Today, we have a selection of young women up for sale. I expect you all to bid fairly and honorably."
With that, the auction began. Wealthy men and women from all around the kingdom stepped forward and started putting in bids. The women were called forth one by one and the bids went higher and higher with each one.
Asael looked almost bored, his hands in his pockets. Christopher's eyes flicked to his brothers every now and then, while Prince Vincent kept his gaze on the women intently.
The auction continued, the women being sold to the highest bidders, some going for extremely high prices. The king sat on his throne, a satisfied look on his face as he watched the auction.
All eyes were suddenly drawn to the young woman who was brought forward. She stood there, her head lowered, her gaze locked on the floor. Her face was bruised and bloody, her lips bleeding, and her white dress was torn and dirty.
But her expression was something none of the princes had expected. She showed no emotion even under all the distress.
The king, taken aback, leaned forward slightly on his throne, his gaze fixing on the woman.
None of them knew what to make of her. Her lack of reaction was... unusual to say the least. The crown prince, his eyes narrowing slightly, spoke up, his voice low "What happened to her?"
The auctioneer, standing beside the woman, cleared his throat before speaking. "We found her in the woods... like this." he gestured to the woman's current state.
The princes looked on in silence, each of their minds going to different places. The king, his expression serious, raised his hand and called out "Highest bid?"
