Chapter Thirteen

Minho, unfortunately, has a job. It's not all that terrible considering retail was an option, but it still makes him want to bash his head in just a little bit.

He teaches the intermediate course at the dance studio. He has a relatively small class, four girls and one boy. The boy is the one that makes him want to bash his head in.

He's only in the class because Seungmins friend, Hyunjin, has a nephew in town and Seungmin, being the traitor that he is, said he could get him into Minho's class.

He's incredibly talented but he can't stop making "deez nutz" jokes and refuses to partner with the girls because he doesn't want "cooties"

The last time he was told to be paired up with Karina, he yelled out "ewwwwwww" and Karina promptly tackled him to the ground besides the fact that he's three inches taller than her.

"NISHIMURA RIKI!" The lanky black haired boy jumps from where he's standing. Ning Ning, who was peacefully taking instructions from Minho, turns to look at the culprit, who has been quietly stacking up the mats for the older groups with more acrobatic choreography, and is now attempting to climb them and jump onto two other stacked up mats.

Karina looks up from where she's laying her head on Minjeongs lap, pausing what shes watching on her phone to see the events unfold. "You're gonna break your neck, Niki."

"Please don't do that, Hyunjin would kill me." Minho says, putting his hands together in a begging gesture.

"Ugh, you guys are no fun." the boy says before hopping off. As it turns out, twelve to thirteen year old boys now are just as reckless as he was.

"Okay, everyone, gather in a circle. We need to have a team meeting. Jimin, wake Giselle up please." Karina rolls her eyes before waking the borderline narcoleptic girl up.

They all gather around in a circle, Giselle sleepily resting her head against Ning Ning, Niki with his knees up to his chest, and Karina and Minjeong sitting side by side with their arms interlocked, as close as they can get without full on hugging. Minho gets it.

Karina and Minjeong. It's obvious what they are, but it's the kind of thing that they have to figure out themselves. Even though Minho knows the secrets of the universe when it comes to their situation, he can't burst their bubble until it bursts itself.

Giselle and Ning Ning are like that too, except they're more chill about it. Ning Ning has two moms and Giselles parents are supportive so Minho guesses it's easier for them.

It warms his heart watching them get picked up by Giselles dad everyday, walking out of class with Giselle carrying their bags for the both of them, always being together.

Minho wishes he had that kind of love. Not just some fuckbuddy that met your mom.

"Niki, I understand that you're an un-medicated shitshow of adhd because your mom is weird and doesn't believe in medicine, but you gotta chill out dude."

Minho gestures to the backroom where the snacks are, "I have mountain dews in the back fridge, the caffeine will calm you down. I know some of it is your raging teenage boy hormones which thankfully haven't affected the girls in this class, but I cant have you breaking a leg in my class."

He's pretty sure Giselle fell back asleep, "That's a hell of a lot of money for your parents to spend on a trip to the ER, and a whole lot of paperwork that I don't have the time or care to do, and I don't feel like going to court." Niki just nods before lighting up with something mischievous.

"so I can have sodas?" He asks, grin widening.

Minho sighs. "One. One soda before class starts. No more, no less." Niki sticks his hand out. "Deal?" Minho takes it. "Deal."

"Now that that's done with, let's do real talk. Niki, what's your uncle Hyunjin actually like?" Minho asks. He's genuinely curious.

"My dad once accused my mom of sleeping with him because we look so much alike, but he's way too gay for that." Karina chokes and spits out her water, coughing afterwards. Minjeong pats her back.

"Go on." Minho says. Niki continues. "Well, we like watching anime together. I can understand it because my mom is Japanese and I'm bilingual, but Hyunjin hyung has to have subtitles. When I would hang out at his dorm last year, he'd always have his friend Jisung over." Minho's ears perk up.

"Jisung is funny. He likes watching dramas with Hyunjin and they pretend to be over dramatic and act out the shows. They let me play online games with them too." Minho smiles. No particular reason, definitely not.

"The only bad part is when Hyunjin talks about his boy problems. He yaps on and on about how his innie is so far away." Niki says, ending that last part with air quotes.

Minho, without thinking, asks, "Do any of you have boy problems?" Minho immediately feels bad when he sees Minjeongs hand on her knee tense up and Karinas eyes avert to the floor.

Giselle, who woke up somewhere in Niki's story about his uncle, snorts before responding "No" and kissing Ning Nings cheek, the other visibly blushing.

Right. He has to remind himself that they aren't little anymore, they kiss. They're only a year away from high-school and it makes Minho simultaneously feel like a proud dad and like he's about to throw up.

"We know, I didn't know a fourteen and thirteen year old could make me feel so single." Minho says, he's not actually upset but it does sting a little... okay, a lot a little.

"I thought you were dating Minhyuk?" Minjeong says, she's supposed to be on vocal rest for a competition but Minho guesses his love life is more important.

"It's- he-... it's complicated..." He didn't exactly feel like exposing his horrible love life to a bunch of fetus teenagers.

"Oooooo Minho has some tea to spill" Karina says, leaning forward to the conversation.

"uh, yeah no. I'm not explaining my shit to you." Minho hopes they don't see the tips of his ears.

"Is your current boyfriend not fulfilling your romantic and emotional needs and you're catching yourself falling for someone who is genuinely the better option and you've known for longer but it's never been the right time?" Holy crap, how did Minjeong manage to sum up his entire situation in one go?

"oh yeah, I forgot you're a freaky fortune teller" Minho says. "No, I just read people well. Plus, you keep using some guy named Jisung as an example for how some of our moves should look and it's fucking obvious. I can read you like a book, Minho. You're fucking terrible at hiding your emotions." Minho almost let's his jaw  drop.

"Piss off and continue your vocal rest." Minho snaps, annoyed.

Stupid Minjeong and her stupid emotional intelligence.

A/n: I think I made this chapter a little longer. I hope you like angsty gay teenage aespa and hyperactive problematic Niki from enhypen lmao. Next chapter will still be at the dance studio and I think I'm gonna have these little shits (endearingly) be more recurring characters. Hope you guys enjoy!!
