Chapter 1.4 - New Life, New Hope

I left home and decided to apply as an apprentice scientist at NASA, fortunately I got accepted after a couple of months and now I am working on the space-time department. There, I learned more things and adding them up on my current knowledge, I immediately made friends with one of the senior scientists there named Roland Wright who was one of my dad's close friend. Mr Wright took me to be one of his subordinates. Mr Wright was conducting his own research regarding the space-time and their abnormal behavior, his research was unknown to NASA. Because my father was his friend, he decided to count me in his secret research.

"Mr. Wright, can you tell me how you study space-time?" -Rod

"Well kid, it isn't easy and there are more information that I lack. I have been relying on your father's personal findings and knowldge, but since your father is gone, my research slowed down a bit." -Mr.Wright

"Sir, maybe you can use my father's journal, I quite don't know what all of these mean. Can you help me find out? And maybe teach me also." -Rod

*hands over the journal*

*Mr. Wright putting on his glasses and starts to read*

"Your father once told me that they were given a top-secret project which involves the study of space-time and our world. I know these formulas, these are his personal findings on the project. I am not quite familiar with these but these are more than I suspect." -Wright

"Maybe I can add these on my study, I will study them but these will take a while." -Wright

"Sir, I'm kinda shy to ask this but do you still have room on your quarters?. I don't have my room yet." -Rod

"Haha, thought you'll never ask, newbies here aren't provided rooms but you might like your father's quarters, it's locked up but I know the code. It's on the left wing of the station 03, quarter no. 07, lock code: 0004079" -Wright

"Thanks sir, but aren't you going to rest? It's quite late." -Rod

"Maybe later, I'll just finish today's report and I'll rest after." -Wright

So Rod went to the said room, entered the code and went inside. Just as expected, the room was old and dusty, full of webs. He was too tired to clean so he headed to bed which was covered in cloth and uncovered it. Then after a few minutes his head began to ache as if being drilled on the temples. Rod screamed in pain, curled and cried. Then after that, the pain subsided; he opened his eyes and to his surprise he was on a bluish-black environment which seemed to be endless.

*Meanwhile at Mr. Wright's laboratory*

*A device emitted a beeping sound*

Mr. Wright rushed to the device and checked what was going onuntil he read the alert:

"WARNING, WARNING, SPACE-TIME DISTURBANCE DETECTED"

"What is causing this?" -Wright
