Chapter 3 : The Deal

As she left in so much anger I diverted my thoughts from her to the business deal.

I took my bag and walked out of the campus. I saw Jenna waiting in the car with crew, our driver. As I got in Jenna handed me her tablet.

In the mansion, Jenna was our headmaid. But outside she was no less than my Informationist. No one knew where she got her info from. There are rumors that she was a government official but my father had saved her during an accident.. Hence the loyalty to our family.

I finally looked at the tablet... I'd asked her to get me everything she could on Alle Benrick but her reputation was spotless. That surprised me even more. No one in the high society had nothing dirty on them one was pure. Not in this society.

Jenna handed me another file for the meeting. It was with Mr. Russell. He has the largest shares in the group.. Obviously after my father. I was always suspicious of him and today it was clear. He was conspiring with Daniel. As I went on, I saw the real him, embezzlement, bribery, human trafficking, and don't even talk about smuggling. He was using the company name as a shield...and that was it for him.

I sent the information to Markus. He knew how to deal with these people.

I closed my laptop and thought.. That's how our society is.. No one is spotless..

Four months later...

I lived my life like usual apart from her, displaying hate for me so openly that the whole school knew. Kai and Alle can't stay in a room without arguing. Day by day was getting on my nerves. I couldn't stand her anymore. She pissed me off every chance she got. But now it was time to see who was at the top of the class. To show her that I was better than her no matter what she did. I spent most of my years being at the top. Kai Agrachi had never in his life been second.. Until today. I WAS SECOND TO ALLE BENRICK! It was an insult! Not just to me but to my family too. The Agrichis were never in second place.

I looked around to find that brat but her arrogance knows no bounds. She was not even present there and I hated it so much. All the lingering feelings i had for her disappeared immediately. Now all I had was my male ego hitting the bottom of the well. I was prepared to make her life hell. Using uncivilized ways was not my style but for her, i was willing to do anything to bring her down on her knees and beg me.

I went home and called my father who I had been ignoring for forcing me to marry her. But today I was determined.
"Hello? Dad?.. I've been thinking of how i can reflect on the poor decisions I've made in the past. Ignoring you or mom was not the best thing. Especially for mother. She had been hard on it. But now i think I'm ready. I'll get engaged to Alle benrick."
"That's better.. Now that you have come to a decision we can finally end the deal expanding in the wine industry too." said my dad.

The day after the dinner I had done my fair share of research and found out that my dad was interested in expanding the business.. Even though we had money that was sufficient to feed 5 generations. But as always,, MEN ARE GREEDY.

"But I won't just make her mine for nothing...I'm your son after all."
I could see that he was dissatisfied but he had no choice. When my father thought of expanding business, he never thought that benrick would use his daughter as a bargaining chip. I knew that my father would want me to marry for love but his greed had got the better of him.
He only said three words. "state your demands"

"One: I will be engaged to her for exactly two years, if you're unable to get the contract then it's your problem. Two: you will suspend any sort of threat i will have to get the CEO position.. Including Mr. Russell and my dear cousin Sals who has had his eye on the position for far too long. Three: You will stop having any affairs with other women. If Mom found out she'd divorce you.. And just a friendly reminder.. The Agrichi enterprise belonged originally to Mom. You will get nothing from the divorce. So choose wisely."

I cut the call knowing he would have to agree. He had no choice.

Hours later i got a call from Mr. Bemrick.

And just as I expected from my dad's manipulation skills, he was in. Though I'm pretty sure he has no idea about the deal with my father I'm sure he suspected as much. I was in our business blood to not trust. And I loved taking advantage of that. I smirked at his submissiveness in the arrangement. And I was days away from embarrassing Alle Benrick.

The next day, at school, i could see it in her face. I felt a surge of victory. Even though this was not how I dealt with things but breaking rules when it comes to her has now become an everyday thing for me. That evening I went to the cafeteria..only to see her sitting in my regular spot.

"hey that's my spot"
"well, i don't see your name on it" she replied almost instantly, expecting such a question.
"you can sit in my spot" she added.

I glanced at her place to see hungry girls with sparkly eyes waiting for a man...." you're feeding me to hungry fish! You're so mean, my love"
I touched the ends of her hair and kissed it..causing her to flinch. " It's so cruel to give your future fiancé to such greedy people, peach"

"Let's go on a date" she said with such fierceness but i could see her eyes blush." i did not think you would take initiative.. But your wish is my command" as soon i said that she stood up and rushed out of the cafeteria. She left a note with her number on it. I smirked.

Her father must have forced her to ask me out on a date.. But it was fine as long as it was in my favor.

I saved her number as peach... I have no idea why I call her that. Maybe it's because of her pale skin and red cheeks. When she genuinely laughs her cheeks always go red and she gets that dimple that can make any man beg on their knees.

I diverted my thoughts. It was unhealthy for my plan to think such absurd things about her.
