Part two of We're All Going To Die
"Is the final nuke ready?" Red asks through his headphones. "Yes." Ash responses, slamming the nuke's control panel shut and sliding down the ladder. He picks it up and puts the ladder away in the shed before climbing up the stairs. Up there, he puts on his space suit and presses the button to open the door. He steps out on the moon, the earth reflecting on his helmet as he looks up. The pretty oceans, forests, mountains, it will all be gone. But so will the humans so it's worth it. He activates his foot rockets and makes his way over to the base where Red is waiting. After entering the building, he takes off the equipment and puts the spacesuit away, walking into the main control room where Red is sitting at the desk. He sneaks up behind him, one foot placed quietly in front of the other. "BOO" Ash yells, placing his hands on Red's shoulders and Red practically jumps out of his skin, sighing and sitting back only when he sees Ash. "Ash, bro, you gave me a heart attack" Ash chuckles and slides his arms down Red's chest, folding them up loosely around his neck. Red quickly spins around back to the control panel, but Ash swore he saw him blush. It was not the time to tease him, unfortunately. They had nukes to launch, Earth to destroy, people to kill, you know, the normal. Ash reaches to press the button when the author interrupts.
"What about me?" D:< They complain annoyingly.
"Bitch you can die with everyone else"
"But if I die you don't exist anymore bc I can't write you"
"Tf do you mean we're not some measly fanfiction"
"Yes you are"
"Oh"
"Launching in 3... 2... 1..." Red calls, Ash tightening his grip around him as he presses the button. A thundering roar shook the air as the nukes took off all around the moon, seemingly like extinguished shooting stars as the metal tanks of nuclear power started their journey towards Earth. The homing code proves to have worked, as they all go to their designated areas. Explosions are visible all around Earth and the overall colour wilts, dulling. Charcoal black clouds envelop Earth, hiding the destruction from sight. "Thank god we got rid of that annoying author"
"Jokes on you I'm the author I'm immortal"
"Bruh"
"Ash, stop wasting your time on this pathetic human being."
Red gets up from his seat and Ash drops his arms from around him. For no purpose, apparently, because the first thing Red does is pull him into a tight hug. Ash returns the embrace almost immediately. "We did it" Red breathes. They stand there in silence for a minute, partially because they had wiped out the entire planet but mostly because they both liked the embrace but is too shy to admit it or tell the other.
