Rain pattered softly against the window, the drops sliding down the glass in lazy trails. The sky was overcast, casting a muted gray light over the room. Naruto stretched out on the couch, his head resting on Sasuke's lap, while Sasuke absentmindedly ran his fingers through Naruto's hair.

"What a gloomy day," Naruto murmured, his eyes half-closed as he listened to the rhythmic sound of the rain. "I had all these plans to train, but now I just feel... lazy."

Sasuke looked down at him, a small, amused smile playing on his lips. "Not every day has to be about training, you know. Sometimes it's okay to do nothing."

Naruto tilted his head back slightly to look up at Sasuke. "I guess so," he said with a grin. "Besides, I kind of like doing nothing when you're around."

Sasuke chuckled softly, his fingers continuing their gentle ministrations in Naruto's hair. "Is that so?"

Naruto nodded, closing his eyes again. "Yeah. Days like this... they're nice. Just us, hanging out. No missions, no interruptions. Just... peace."

Sasuke's smile softened as he looked down at Naruto. "Yeah," he agreed quietly. "It is nice."

For a while, they sat in comfortable silence, the only sounds being the rain outside and their quiet breaths. Sasuke's hand moved from Naruto's hair to his cheek, his thumb brushing lightly over Naruto's skin. Naruto leaned into the touch, his heart swelling with a warmth that had nothing to do with the blanket draped over them .

"Hey, Sasuke?" Naruto said after a while, his voice soft and contemplative.

"Yeah?" Sasuke replied, still absentmindedly stroking Naruto's cheek.

"Do you ever think about... the future?" Naruto asked, his eyes still closed, his voice almost hesitant.

Sasuke was quiet for a moment, his hand stilling on Naruto's cheek. "What about it?"

Naruto shrugged lightly, his eyes still closed. "I don't know. Just... what things will be like, you know? Us, the village, everything."

Sasuke considered his words, his gaze drifting out the window to where the rain continued to fall. "I think about it sometimes," he admitted. "But I don't worry too much about it. I know as long as you're around, everything will be fine."

Naruto opened his eyes, turning his head slightly to look up at Sasuke. "Really?" he asked, his voice soft, almost vulnerable.

Sasuke nodded, his gaze still fixed on the rain outside. "Yeah," he said quietly. "You... you keep me grounded. You remind me of what's important. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Naruto felt a warmth spread through his chest at Sasuke's words. He sat up slightly, turning so he could face Sasuke. "You really mean that?" he asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.

Sasuke finally looked down at him, his dark eyes serious and earnest. "Of course I do, dobe," he said softly. "You're everything to me."

Naruto's breath caught in his throat, his heart thudding loudly in his chest. He reached up, cupping Sasuke's cheek with his hand, his thumb brushing lightly over Sasuke's skin. "Sasuke..."

Before he could say anything else, Sasuke leaned down, capturing Naruto's lips in a soft, tender kiss. Naruto's eyes fluttered shut as he melted into the kiss, his hand sliding up to tangle in Sasuke's hair. The kiss was slow and unhurried, filled with all the things they couldn't put into words.

When they finally pulled apart, Naruto rested his forehead against Sasuke's, his eyes still closed. "I love you, Sasuke," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

Sasuke smiled, his own voice barely more than a whisper. "I love you too, Naruto."

They stayed like that for a while, foreheads pressed together, breathing each other in. The rain continued to fall outside, but inside, everything was warm and calm.

Naruto eventually pulled back, a bright smile on his face. "Hey, you know what we should do?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

"What?" Sasuke asked, a smile tugging at his lips at Naruto's sudden enthusiasm.

"Let's build a fort!" Naruto said, his grin widening. "Like we used to do when we were kids!"

Sasuke raised an eyebrow, but he couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped him. "A fort? Really, Naruto?"

"Yeah! Come on, it'll be fun!" Naruto said, already scrambling off the couch to gather blankets and pillows.

Sasuke watched him for a moment, his heart swelling with affection. "Alright, alright," he said, getting up to help. "Let's build a fort."

Together, they draped blankets over chairs and couches, piling pillows on the floor to make a cozy space underneath. Naruto was practically bouncing with excitement by the time they finished, his eyes shining with joy.

"Come on, Sasuke!" he called, already crawling into the fort. "This is gonna be awesome!"

Sasuke shook his head, a fond smile on his face as he followed Naruto into the fort. Inside, it was warm and cozy, the blankets creating a soft, dimly lit space. Naruto was lying on his back, staring up at the ceiling of the fort with a content smile on his face.

Sasuke lay down beside him, resting his head on one of the pillows. "You're such a child sometimes," he said, but there was no heat in his words.

Naruto just grinned, turning his head to look at Sasuke. "Yeah, but you love it," he teased.

Sasuke rolled his eyes, but he couldn't hide his smile. "Yeah, I guess I do."

They lay there in their little fort, the rain pattering softly against the window, their hands intertwined between them. Naruto turned his head, pressing a soft kiss to Sasuke's cheek. "Thanks for this," he said quietly. "For everything."

Sasuke turned his head to look at Naruto, his expression soft. "Anytime, dobe," he said, squeezing Naruto's hand gently. "Anytime."

And as they lay there, cocooned in the warmth of their makeshift fort, they knew that no matter what the future held, they would always have each other.
