⚠️ Angst, cheating ⚠️

The evening sun dipped low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the Hidden Leaf Village. The golden light seeped through the window of Naruto's small apartment, illuminating the scene inside. Naruto sat on the edge of his bed, his body tense and his heart heavy with a mixture of anger and betrayal. His blue eyes, usually filled with warmth and mischief, were now clouded with hurt.

In front of him, leaning casually against the wall, stood Sasuke Uchiha. His dark eyes were unreadable, his posture relaxed, but there was a tension in his shoulders, a rigidity in his jaw that betrayed his own inner turmoil.

"I didn't mean for you to find out like this," Sasuke said, his voice low and measured, as if he were discussing something trivial.

Naruto clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white. "You didn't mean for me to find out at all, did you?" His voice trembled with the effort to keep it steady, but he could feel the tears stinging the back of his eyes. "How could you, Sasuke? How could you do this to me?"

Sasuke looked away, his expression unreadable. "It was a mistake, Naruto. It didn't mean anything."

"Didn't mean anything?" Naruto echoed, his voice rising with incredulity. "You cheated on me, Sasuke! With her!" The name hung unspoken in the air between them, but they both knew who he meant.

Sasuke remained silent, his face a mask of indifference, but Naruto could see the flicker of emotion in his eyes—guilt, perhaps, or something darker. Naruto couldn't tell, and it infuriated him. How could Sasuke be so calm, so composed, when Naruto's world was falling apart?

"I trusted you," Naruto continued, his voice breaking. "I loved you. I gave you everything, and this is how you repay me?"

Sasuke finally met Naruto's gaze, his expression softening ever so slightly. "I never asked you to love me, Naruto."

The words were like a slap in the face, and Naruto flinched as if he'd been physically struck. A bitter laugh escaped his lips, though it held no humor. "Well, I guess that's my fault then, huh? For thinking you actually cared about me."

Sasuke's eyes darkened, a shadow passing over his features. "Don't twist my words. You know I care about you."

"Do you?" Naruto shot back, his anger flaring again. "Because it sure doesn't feel like it right now."

Sasuke pushed off the wall, taking a step closer to Naruto. "I made a mistake, okay? But that doesn't change what we have."

"What we have?" Naruto repeated, his voice filled with disdain. "What exactly do we have, Sasuke? A lie? A joke? Because that's what it feels like to me right now."

Sasuke's patience seemed to snap. His calm facade cracked, and his eyes narrowed, his tone turning cold. "You think I wanted this? You think I wanted to hurt you?"

"I don't know what to think anymore!" Naruto shouted, standing up and facing Sasuke head-on. "I don't even know who you are anymore!"

For a moment, they stood there, facing each other in a tense standoff, the room thick with the weight of unsaid words and unresolved feelings. Then, slowly, Sasuke's expression shifted. His gaze turned calculating, and a cruel smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

"You're not going anywhere, Naruto," he said, his voice soft but laced with menace. "You're going to stay right here, with me."

Naruto frowned, confusion mingling with his anger. "What are you talking about?"

Sasuke stepped closer, closing the distance between them. "You think you can just walk away from me? From us?" He leaned in, his breath hot against Naruto's ear. "I know things, Naruto. Things that could destroy everything you've worked for. Your reputation, your friends, your dreams... I could ruin it all with just a few words."

Naruto's eyes widened in shock, his heart hammering in his chest. "You wouldn't."

Sasuke's smile widened, his eyes glinting with a dark amusement. "Wouldn't I?"

A cold chill ran down Naruto's spine, and he took a step back, his mind racing. He had always known Sasuke could be ruthless, but he never imagined he would turn that ruthlessness on him. This wasn't the Sasuke he knew, the Sasuke he loved. This was someone else—someone cruel and calculating, someone who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.

"You're serious," Naruto whispered, his voice barely audible over the sound of his own pounding heart.

Sasuke didn't respond, but the look in his eyes was answer enough. He meant every word. Naruto felt his world crumbling around him, the weight of Sasuke's betrayal pressing down on him like a vice. He wanted to scream, to cry, to lash out, but he knew it wouldn't change anything. Sasuke had him trapped, and they both knew it.

Tears welled up in Naruto's eyes, but he blinked them back, refusing to let Sasuke see him break. "Why?" he asked, his voice choked with emotion. "Why are you doing this?"

Sasuke's smirk faded, and for a moment, a flicker of something—regret, perhaps—passed over his face. But it was gone as quickly as it had appeared, replaced by a steely resolve. "Because I don't want to lose you, Naruto. Even if this is the only way to keep you."

Naruto's heart ached at the twisted logic, the warped version of love that Sasuke seemed to believe in. "This isn't love, Sasuke," he said quietly. "This is control. This is manipulation."

"Call it what you want," Sasuke replied, his tone dismissive. "But you're not leaving me. Not now, not ever."

Naruto felt a surge of anger, a spark of defiance igniting within him. He wasn't going to let Sasuke bully him into staying. He wasn't going to be a prisoner in his own relationship.

"I won't let you do this," he said firmly, his voice stronger now. "I won't let you control me like this."

Sasuke's eyes narrowed, his expression hardening. "You don't have a choice, Naruto."

Naruto took a deep breath, steadying himself. "There's always a choice, Sasuke. And I choose to walk away."

He turned on his heel and headed for the door, his heart pounding with fear and adrenaline. He didn't know what would happen next—if Sasuke would try to stop him, if he would follow through on his threats—but he knew he couldn't stay. He couldn't let himself be trapped in a toxic, twisted version of love.

As he reached for the doorknob, Sasuke's voice stopped him in his tracks.

"Fine," Sasuke said, his tone icy. "Walk away. But don't think for a second that this is over. You'll be back, Naruto. You always come back."

Naruto hesitated for a moment, his hand hovering over the doorknob. Part of him wanted to turn around, to look at Sasuke one last time, but he forced himself to keep moving. He couldn't afford to look back, not now. Not when his heart was on the line.

He opened the door and stepped out into the hallway, the cool air hitting his face like a slap. He didn't know what the future held, but for the first time in a long time, he felt a glimmer of hope—a small, fragile spark that told him he could be free. He could find a way to heal, to move on, even if it meant walking away from the person he thought he could never live without.

As he walked away, the door closed behind him with a soft click, and the sound echoed in the silence of the hallway. Naruto didn't look back. He kept moving forward, one step at a time, leaving the past—and Sasuke—behind him.
