Aura POV

I wonder what he wanted to say. Eh, I don't really care, since he didn't wanna say anything it's not my business.

"I have Italian class tomorrow. I hate it but i have to take it if I plan to live in Italy. If it's a pop quiz istfg-" I talk to myself, before finishing the last sentence, I bump into my door.

Rubbing my face out of pain, I realize I arrived. I open the door and enter, plopping on my bed as I look at the time. "Only 11pm? I'm not gonna be sleep for a while yet. I should revise what we were talking about last class." I exclaim, standing up and heading to my really non-organized drawers and taking out my book and notebook.

After 20 minutes of pure staring and reading I sigh deeply, out of irritation. "I don't get shit I just read. 'venti modi per salutare qualcuno in italiano semplice'??? What the hell is that??"

I groan in frustration, my nerves on a thinner edge by the second. "I swear, I'll be so happy if I don't fail this semester, but on my level of knowledge it's highly unlikely." continuing to talk to myself, I think for a moment "Is it healthy to talk to yourself?" I question my mental state. "Not like I'm really mentally stable at all, so does it really matter?" concluding that, I take out my book again trying to figure out something written.

~°3 hours later°~

"Well... I finally figured out a bit. Should be enough to pass. I'm exhausted either way, and I WILL NOT be doing any more." I speak yet again to myself.

"What time even is it?" I check the time and my eyes widen. "2am already??" stressing out, I throw all of my books, notebooks and things on the floor as i lay on my back.

Groaning, I rub my eyes "Ugh, I can't sleep yet..." exhaling, my mind races as an idea pops. "I could try that little levitation thingy... I don't even know how to do it, but trying never hurts to try."

Maybe lifting something light is smarter, to not make a loud thud if failing is the first thing I manage, which is most likely.

I sit at the edge of my bed and spot an empty water bottle. Concentrating, or at least trying, I extend my hand and try to imagine pulling it over with like some kind of gravitational pulse, my eyes narrowing, and it suddenly levitates to me. It was extremely shaky and not in a correct line, but it was a start.

My face brightens, realizing it worked. "Woah... It actually worked." I exclaim in amazement. I tried it out a few more times, of course failing a couple tries, but overall pretty successful.

"It's already 2:30, I should probably sleep. I got class early." and with that, I turn off the lights and lay in my bed, slowly drifting off.

~ morning ~

3rd person POV

The already set alarm awoke and rung exceptionally loud, Aura thought as she stirred. The sun was rising, casting a light gleam over her messy bedroom.

After a couple minutes, Aura was already in the hall, ready for the day to commence. She was eating an apple to help her get through the exhausting classes she'll have to attend.

As all of these negative thought swirled her mind, every single one magically vanished when she saw Zane in the hallway, waving at her and signaling Aura to accompany him.

Trying to avoid bumping into people, which didn't really work out, she quickly scurried over to join him. "In all honesty, you look sick, did you sleep at all?" were the first words coming out of Zane's mouth when they started walking.

"I slept 3h, thank you very much" spoke Aura as she finished her apple and threw it in a nearby trash can. "Wow, such a difference that makes from not sleeping at all." he clapped back at her attitude, and thought what would make it better.

"By the way, our Italian professor is absent." remarking that, he definitely peaked Aura's interest. "Did they find a substitute?" she questioned swiftly "That's the best part, they didn't. So we have a free period."

"And they couldn't inform us BEFORE? I could've caught onto some sleep." groaned Aura. "Oh, c'mon, you're hanging out with me." he replied smugly "I would take sleeping over hanging out with you any day." Zane made a face mocking sadness, then left it at that, changing the subject.

As they came out to the school yard, they found a bench and sat down. Suddenly, Zane pulls out two sandwiches, a sweet (Nutella) and a salty one. He then hands the sweet one to Aura, making her confused. "What's this for?" she asks, taking the sandwich.

"You never eat anything in the morning, so I figured I'd bring you something." he responded casually, not knowing what great confusion arose in Aura's mind. "What, you thought I wouldn't notice?" he said in an amused sort of way. Her face expression changed to one of intriguing, looking down at her sandwich as she unwrapped it, she mumbled "Honestly, not even I noticed."

And so the day went on as usually as it would, but that moment clung onto Aura's mind for a lot of the time being. 'How did he know me better than I did?'  was the biggest question that occupied the wreck of thoughts.

After what felt like a lifetime, the final school bell just struck, and they were free to the comfort of their dorm rooms again.

'Man, that music lesson was so boring and unhelpful. They're teaching us like we're fifth graders! How would we even be able to apply to a music class if we didn't know basic notes and breaks?' the little negative voice in her head echoed. 'I don't know, but the teacher is an old sweet woman, give her a break, she looks like she's about to retire any moment now!' the positive one fought back. 'More like drop dead any moment now-'  said a very familiar voice. 'WHO LET INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS IN?!' both of the positive and negative voices screamed in union.

Stopping the train-wreck of arguing in Aura's mind (while she contemplates if she's schizophrenic) was Luca. "Oh no, she's gonna have a manic episode everyone, beware~" he mocked as se already told him about this matter and he recognized it. With that statement, he made Aura slap his shoulder and chuckle. "Shut up you psycho. What are you, a psychic now? How'd you tell it was that?"

"I have my ways pookie, now come on, Maya's waiting for us!" he informed her, starting to slither through the crowd up to the dorms. "Let me guess, you guys planned on being in my room?" Aura had a good idea of what was happening, even thought she was barely keeping up with Luca in the halls. "Bingo. Didn't think we were at my dorm, did you?" Luca scoffed with a smirk. "I sometimes wonder if you hide dead bodies in there, why don't we ever hang out there?" exclaimed Aura while rolling her eyes. "Ah, shut up and let's just go."

A minute or two later, they arrived. Opening the door, Aura spotted her familiar friend, Maya, on the floor with a sketchbook and pencil, sketching something. Maya was a dark-skinned, slim and short blue-eyed girl that dyed her bangs a different color every time she felt like it, at this moment purple. Seeing them, she put down her sketchbook and ran towards Aura, and she lifted her off of the floor, then started ran around the dorm with her.

The moment Luca closed the door, which was a second or two from when Aura was lifted, Maya called out "WOOOOOO!! The gang is back!!" and she finally put her friend down. Aura, now looking like a ghost, lightened up a bit when the words processed in her mind and giggled. "We couldn't get together sooner because some BUZZKILL-" she daggered a glare towards Aura "-was too busy 'studying', while I heard she was hanging out with the Micurry boy for the last two months!" accompanied with the last word that came out of Maya, awkwardness suddenly struck, and her lips thinned, being called out.

"Yeah, sis, spill the beans, don't be shy now." Luca caught on and started 'investigating', as he would say, yet Aura stayed silent. "Oh, c'mon, you can't just blow us off for two months and then not summarize what's been going on." with the last of Luca's sentence, she caved. "Ah, fine. But this is said here, and it stays here." even as Aura threw empty threats, her friends shrugged it off like they didn't hear anything except the 'Ah, fine' anyways. Beaming, both of the friends sat down on the floor, followed closely by Aura.

Aura, started talking, and talking, and talking... until something else caught her attention. Her phone buzzed as a notification arrived. She merely glanced at it, not planning to respond to anyone as she hangs out with her two best friends, yet when her eye accidentally caught the contact name, the thought from before vanished. She then stopped talking for a moment, before announcing. "It's Zane."

"OoOh, she already has his number~." spoke Luca's undertone towards Maya, before the two of them silently giggled. They couldn't see the screen Aura was holding up, and all they heard was another buzz of a notification, the calmness of Aura's face expression was undeniably disappointing, contract of what they were about to hear. "He asked if I wanna hang out tomorrow." casually exclaimed Aura, not expecting Maya's jaw to drop and Luca to have an    evil-sort-of-pleased grin. When Maya even audibly gasped, that just added to the confusion in Aura's mind. "What? It's just hanging out. We've done it before. You guys are acting like he asked me out." Aura muttered the last words out dismissively.

The next thing Aura felt was a hard slap on her arm as she started to respond to the message. "OW! What was that for?!" she yelped out. "YOU DUMBASS!! YOU KNOW TOMORROW IS THE 14TH FEBRUARY!?" Maya, the person who hit her, accused. "Your point?" after those letters escaped Aura's mouth she felt yet another hard slap on her shoulder this time. "VALENTINES DAY! HE BASICALLY DID JUST ASK YOU OUT!" Maya informed her with a slap once again. Luca, just watching the chaos unfold, was amused at the face Aura made at realization more than he was amused at anything else in the last year.

"...weihwha?" she mumbled. "DON"T YOU 'WAIT WHAT' ME! THE GUY JUST ASKED YOU OUT, RESPOND!" Maya's temper rose by the moment Aura stood dumbfounded. "What do I say?" she questioned urgently. "I don't know have you guys usually text, something casual. Text as if you didn't notice the date or something."

THIS CHAPTER IS SO LATEEE.I was busy with school and stuff and I also took a break for a month. During the the break I read some books, so my vocabulary is definitely better then before. The time I started this chapter was on schedule (around the 2nd or 3rd September) but then I started the break and expanded my dictionary, since my first language isn't English. Up from the 3rd person POV forwards I did after, and you can see a difference in the writing (yes I'm just bragging I learnt a few new words and how to write better). I'll try to post more frequently, but no promises! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!
