I wake up to the sound of loud banging on my door. I groan not wanting to leave the comfort of my bed. The banging continued causing a horrible headache. Love the drunk part, hate the hangover.
I get up and realize I changed clothes and did my skincare last night. I still have some mascara leftover and crazy hair, but I've looked worse. I slowly make my way to my door after tripping on my clothes from last night.
" I'm coming geez!" I yell
As soon as I unlock the door, it pushes in.
I was stunned by the initial shock, but I couldn't help but notice an angry Eric standing in my kitchen.
"What the fuck Eric!" I yell.
"Why the fuck haven't you been answering me?" He yells stepping closer.
One thing Eric does is yell. What's scary is that he is not yelling." I was out having friend night. I didn't want to be glued to my phone when I could be having fun. " I tried to keep a steady tone.
" That's no fucking excuse. Did you honestly think I wouldn't find out? That you're a whore," He starts to sound more and more angry.
" I have no idea what you are talking about!," I answer honestly.
"Don't! Act stupid. David saw you guys at The Ravenclaw! You were practically flirting and acting sluty towards some guy." He's getting too close.
I try to keep as much distance between us as I can. Learning from past experiences, the closer I am the more he'll want to get aggressive.
" Eric baby I have no idea what your friend thought he saw, but I was at the club celebrating my friend's promotion. Jessica had a contact in the club that let us in. I said hi and that was it," I half tell the truth.
At this point, I'm touching the wall and Eric is blocking me.
" Jessica don't fucking lie to me! Did you fuck him?" He grabs my fist and pulls me into him.
" Eric please I promise I didn't. He was just some guy," I whisper to him, not wanting him to get any more upset.
" You're mine! You hear that, Jessica? You're not going to make me look like a pathetic loser. My friend told me you were all night with him"
" Jessica was hungry after the club, we we went to a diner. We just ate," I say wincing at him squeezing my wrists.
As he lets me go, he shoves me back into the wall. My back is going to bruise, but at least I avoided hitting my head.
" That better be true. Listen, I just love you so much. Okay? I can go a bit overboard, but I'm scared of losing you," Eric said as he grazed his hand on my chin. He quickly pecks me on the lips and turns around.
"I'm off to work now. Love you," He says like he wasn't just yelling at me.
As soon as I see that door close, I run to lock it. We weren't like this at the beginning. He would sweeten my ear with beautiful poems and gift me hundreds of flowers. I just thought it was going to be like that forever. I'm a fool to think he would change. I have to get out of this.
I collect myself, wiping the tears, and walk to my small kitchen. It's Sunday so I'll be free all day. Maybe I should clean up a bit after breakfast. That always helps me sort my thoughts. I find that cleaning my apartment is like cleaning my brain.
I make myself a coffee, some avocado toast and scrambled eggs. I devour my food and change out of my pjs.
I settle on tight flared leggings and a leopard print tank top. I started to collect yesterday's rejected outfits and hang them in my closet. I put away skincare and makeup, pick up my fuzzy lamb stuffed animal, and return him to my bed.
