Waking through Sangster international airport I look out for my dad who's here to pick me up. It's been four years since I came back to Jamaica and five months since I've seen him. I had the life most girls want, I went to Harvard law school, had a rich boyfriend and my dream job as a criminal lawyer making 30 grand monthly without my bonus and commissions.
When I lived in New York I was working two to three cases a month for eight months with an average commission of 10 grand. Which means I made 280 thousand dollars while working. I didn't pay bills or anything so I have 240 thousand left which is roughly 38million in Jamaica.
If you're wondering how I found out I walked in on him with his best friend who was a man and I found out that his whole friend group and family knew about it.
I reach the exit of the airport and I was looking around for my father. I then felt someone hug me causing me to jump of fright but when I looked at who did it I saw him.
" mi one seed how yo look so skinny?" he asked looking at me
" really daddy" I replied pulling away from the hug
He took my four big suitcases from me and started walking towards the car. He was driving a white Honda CRV. I went into the front seat of the car sat put on my seatbelt and waited for him to put my bags in the trunk of the car.
"Yo hungry?" he asked as he started the car
" yea can get kfc please" I asked
"Yea so weh yo plan fi do" he asked as he drove on the road
" well I got a job at Blake and Johnson law firm with a monthly salary of 1 million and I start work the second of next month" I replied to him
" so yo have enough money fi whole yo over until then?"he asked
" yea cause a bout 38 million mi have leff inna mi account" I replied
" but anyways mi gi yo the house a Norbrook but a next week yah move in because mi a tun one a di room den inna one walking closet fi yo" he said turning into the kfc drive through
" oh ok" I said
" what yo want?" he asked looking at the menu since the line wasn't long
" bbq zinger big box no leg, bbq famous bowl and a corn" I replied taking up my phone to turn it on
"a nyam so and nah gain no weight" he said before ordering the food and driving up in the line
"so when yo the rest of your things a come?" He asked
" dem seh monday at twelve so me ago need two truck fi the furniture and tings" I replied
" ok mi ago do it fi yo" he said as he collected the food giving it to me
Time Skip It was currently after seven and we just got home to St. Mary. Me and my dad moved here after he devorced my mom.

" why yah ask all of a sudden?" I asked looking at him
" because last week she come up here bout yo nah talk to har and ting" he replied
" well a fi har fault that so good night daddy" I said getting up
