A guide to the Supernatural (Male reader)

Chapter 2: The book

The detention dragged on for the young teen. As soon as it was over he rushed back to the house as fast as he could. He walked in the door and saw his uncle was no where to be seen and his siblings were watching something on the couch. "Hey bro heard you got into a fight on the first day. Badass dude!" Mickey said. "Uh yeah" y/n said itching to get to his room. "Wanna sit down and watch with us?" Kat asked "Sorry I got... home work" and he rushed upstairs and slammed shut the door to his room.

He opens his bag and took out the book. 'A guide to the supernatural 3'. He opened the cover and flipped to the first page and began reading. 'I was right in thinking this town was a supernatural hotspot but I underestimated the amount that's here. The more I look the more I find. Something new every day. So here is my continuation of my findings of the supernatural in the town of MistFall California.' Y/n stared at the page in awe and flipped the pages seeing detailed drawings of creatures and objects and writing to boot. He saw a page about a monster that can disguise as a tree to sneak up on you. He saw page about a grotto deep in the woods that if you submerge yourself in it you are cured of all wounds and sicknesses. He saw a page about a crystal that can make you fly if crushed into a powder and sprinkled on someone. He looked at the book in awe. "Whatcha lookin at bro?" His little brother said scaring him. Y/n let out a scream like a little girl and whipped around and saw Mickey and Kat looking at him. He didn't hear them walk in because he was so engrossed in the book. "Yeah what is it, some nerd thing?" Kat asked. "Uh it's nothing!" Y/n said unconvincingly. "uH itS NotHinG" his little brother said mocking him. "Come one man are you seriously not going to show us?" Mickey complained. He looked around tenderly and said "Ok here" he handed them the book "A guide to he supernatural 3. Some fantasy book or something?" Mickey read. "I don't think so. I found it behind a brick wall in this".  He hands them the metal box. Kat looked at the box and pressed the button on top and it popped up and flashed the light in her eyes "Ow!" She dropped the box like her brother and began rubbing her eyes. The box did the show of steam and it popped open. "Whoa" was all Mickey said. "Pretty cool huh" Y/n said. Kat looked at the book weird. "Y/n I don't like this thing get rid of it" she said concerned. "What no!". He said as he snatched the book away and tucked it in his arms. "This could be legit! And I want to at least read it before I get rid of it!" Kat sighed and agreed and they heard the front door open.

"Kids I brought home take out! I heard y/n got into a fight on the first day!" Y/n groaned and his siblings snickered. The kids descended the stairs and ate dinner with their uncle. They mutually decided without saying any words to not tell him about the book.

Y/n sat on his bed late at night getting close to the morning. He read the book via a flashlight. He noticed as he got further into the book the more unhinged and scary the entries got. He found one that rattled him. 'It's confirmed I am being watched. I don't know who I can trust anymore. I must find a place to hide this and make sure no one ever gets their hands on it'. He turned the page and saw a blueprint for the box he found it in. He flipped the page and the journal ended abruptly. There were no more entries. He just stared at the last entry that sat with him.

He re read the book all night not getting a wink of sleep. The next morning went slowly with him downing several cups of coffee before feeling he could function at all. Uncle Vince had already left for work and just the kids were eating together. "How far did you get in the book?" Mickey asked his older brother. He took a swing of his coffee and said "All of it" they looked at him concerned "Did you get any sleep?" Mickey asked and Y/n shook his head. They just sighed concerned for their brother but they all finished getting ready for school. They walked to the bus and Mickey left first then the bus for y/n and Kat, they got on and rode to school.

They walked to their first periods unlike yesterday they were getting attention. Y/ns face was still littered with bruises and the word of the fight got around. So on the second day he's got the reputation of the boy who got his ass kicked on the first day. They saw Cassandra talking with a group of her friends. They all looked over to the twins Cassandra said something with a anoying smile and they all burst into laughter.
