getting ready for chris's lacrosse game was a weekly routine

i clip a bow into the high ponytail i had done

touching up the light makeup i had done

not too much since i'll be sweating it all of anyways

i'm picking millie up on my way there

this is their 5th game since school started

i slip on my white air forces that match the cheerleading uniforms

i grab my wristlet, keys, and phone

driving is therapeutic for me

the loud music

alone with my thoughts

having something to focus on

i love driving

i arrive about 10 minutes later at millie's house

i think twice and she scurries outside

her uniform on as well

chris and cade became friends through sports

but they got closer when they found out their girlfriends were best friends

two man if you will

she sets her cup in the holder and smiles at me

"you look cute" she says buckling

"yeah, love the fit where's it from?" i joke knowing we have the same exact thing on

"i'm actually so exited for this game" she says kicking her feet as i start driving

"whats different from the rest?" i ask focusing on the road

"i don't know im just extra happy today" she says checking her phone

we get there slightly late to warm ups but not late to the game

our coach tells us we have 20 minutes till we perform before the game

i leave millie with the other girls and head towards the bathroom

i see chris walking out of the men's as im heading over

he see's me and smiles

"you look beautiful" he says putting his hands above my hips

i put my arms around him

"good luck with the game" i say looking up at him

"actually can we talk for a sec?" he says looking around

"uhm sure" i say a little uneasy now

"alone" he says like a question

"fine" we quickly slip into the family bathroom so hopefully no one saw

"what?" i ask finally

"well i don't know, i hate to do this now but i feel like we're not at close recently" he says looking at me seriously

he looks much bigger than he is with all his equipment on

"i don't think that at all?" i say biting my nails
