Vivaan was silently looking at the lake when Leo came with 2 cups of coffee and passed it to him.
After the blast, Vivaan had a panic attack while Leo helped her. In the meantime, the parents of those kids called 911 and an ambulance arrived sooner. Once Vivaan was in his senses, Leo took him to a lake hoping for him to get some peace.
"Are you fine? I didn't want to drive for a longer distance so decided to stop here." He said looking at the park with a lake in middle where some couples were there.
Vivaan nodded taking a sip of the hot coffee in his hand and closing his eyes as caffeine hit his insides immediately sending relief to his brain.
Leo looked at him trying to notice if any discomfort is there.
"Won't you ask me about the panic attack?" Vivaan said sipping coffee.
Leo looked down at his coffee knowing the reason already "Do you want to tell me?" He said wanting him to decide everything.
Vivaan closed his eyes taking deep breaths "I do. But I want you to ask me." He told him what he wanted.
He wanted to tell him about everything but he didn't dare to do so without his interest. He knew if he started telling him about his past then he would support him but he needed that push, he needed someone to push him to say those things out loud which were just in his thoughts, in his mind till now.
"Tell me everything that causes you even a slight bit of discomfort," Leo said as his thumb rubbed the back of his hand.
"I am adopted." He said while Leo stayed mum letting him speak and let out everything he was holding inside "But I wasn't just adopted, I was saved. I was saved from my alcoholic father."
Vivaan looked at Leo who was keenly looking at him letting him speak whatever was in his mind.
"I was 6 when all of this happened. I don't remember much but enough to be grateful to my parents for taking me in and making my life better." He said as tears pooled up in his eyes "I have my mother's diary where she wrote every single thing about me, my first walk, talk and I could see through those words how much she loved me." His voice broke at the mention of his mother.
Leo rubbed his arms as Vivaan's head rested on his shoulder while he continued "One day she tried to escape but she had pretty bad luck. That man found her and forced her into the passenger seat while I was at the back. I don't remember much of their conversation but he was mentioning how he would kill her and me also. I remember her looking back at me. I remember her eyes, her tears, and her mouthing I love you to me, and in another second she turned the steering wheel as he lost control of the car and our car flipped on the road." Vivaan looked up at Leo "I couldn't even see her face for the last time, some people took me out of the car but before they could save her, the car caught flames and it blew up." Vivaan choked on his words as Leo felt a sense of protection over him.
Although Leo knew everything, hearing it from him was painful. His tears were painful, his choking was painful, and his distress was painful.
"I am here only. Speak up." Leo said rubbing his arms.
"I was sent to Badi maa's NGO and at that time Dad and Mom were visiting. They saw me and decided to adopt me." He smiled "I was scared at first worried about if dad would be the same as my father, would mom be loving like my mother and slowly I realized that there's another world out of my home and that world has some beautiful people." He smiled "They never made me feel that I am not theirs but they also didn't snatch right of my mother. Mom brought the diary and pictures of mine and my mother. She told me about her. She always told me that to accept them I don't need to leave behind my past, my truth, my identity." He smiled "I love them and I never want to cause them any discomfort, any pain."
Leo smiled seeing him happy "Even though you had to lose your mother, I am happy that you finally have two loving parents."
"They are best," Vivaan said with a sad smile remembering what he had to lose to get them.
"Viv" Leo called him looking at the lake "Can I ask you something?" He said with some hesitance in his voice.
"What is it?"
"Why do you work part-time? Your parents do have a decent earning." He said looking up "At first I thought it might be because your parents might not be that supportive but that's not the case too. Then why?" He looked at him.
Vivaan chuckled hearing him "It's because I was alone. You know how much I love to talk to people. But in school I was all alone and at home, my parents came back home at 6 so I was alone there also. The job was just a way for me to find people to interact with, to talk, and to be happy. It was the main reason and somewhere I wanted to spoil my parents with my own money and these part-time jobs were the best option." He smiled telling him the reason behind all his hard work.
Leo huffed "And I thought you got bad parents."
Vivaan looked at him with a smile "I am so lucky Leo." He told him with a serene peace on his face.
Leo looked at him raising his brows.
"I got the best mother, best mom and dad, best friend, best brothers, best co-workers, and now best boyfriend." He looked cutely at him.
Leo ruffled his hair happy at the fact that he ignored the bad experience in his life.
They both looked at the lake for some time in each other's embrace until Vivaan's phone rang. He looked at his phone to see his mom calling him.
He leaned on his shoulder putting the call on speaker.
"Where the hell are you Mr. Singhania?" They heard a very stern voice of Greco which made Vivaan giggle.
"Mom you need to add some more bass in your voice so it looks a bit threatening."
"Oh Lord these today's kids, There was a time when we didn't even talk back to our parents." Greco huffed at his reply.
"Love but he is not talking back. He is just helping you." Vivaan heard his dad's voice from behind.
"You and your son both need some warmth of my spatula I guess." She said as Vivaan laughed harder.
"I guess I'll be saved because Dad will bear all your anger even before I reach." Vivaan laughed enjoying his parent's banter.
"Come home fast. I am making Aaloo parantha."
"And mattresses are set in the hallway. We are having a movie night." Rajveer added as Vivaan squealed.
"I am running at the fastest speed to reach there." Vivaan said cutting the call.
Vivaan instantly looked at Leo "I need to go I guess."
Leo instantly hugged him " I don't want to send you and just cage you." He said pulling him in a hug.
"Cage me later. Right now the most important thing is Aaloo paranthe my mom is making." Vivaan said coming out of his hug and standing up.
"Uff these Aaloo paranthe." He rolled his eyes standing up.
"Aaloo paranthe are my first love Mr. romano. No one can take their place in my life." Vivaan smirked at him .
Leo stood up and pulled him through his waist as he leaned to his ear "Then I will learn these aloo paranthe and make you mine for forever." He said kissing his earlobes as Vivaan fisted his shirt.
