It's normal for people to have crushes, even at a young age. In this generation, it's not uncommon for even 10-year-olds to experience having a crush. That's exactly what Yeonjun is going through right now.
He has a crush on someone he knows he can't have. She's in the first section, while he's in a lower section. He always gets around 75 on his grades, while she consistently tops the class.
Yeonjun pouted, his lower lip jutting out in a small, frustrated frown. He watched her from afar, a pang of longing in his heart. He knew it was impossible, but he couldn't help but dream of a world where they could be together."Is the famous bad boy sad?" Wooyoung asked, settling down beside Yeonjun and following his gaze.
"So you really like her, don't you?" Wooyoung teased, wiggling his eyebrows as Yeonjun turned to him and poked his face playfully. Yeonjun then stood up, grabbing his bag from beside him.
"Wait, Yeonjun!" Wooyoung called out, but Yeonjun simply walked away, his backpack slung over his left shoulder. Wooyoung immediately ran after him, placing his arm around Yeonjun's shoulder.
"Where are you going?" Wooyoung asked, noticing Yeonjun's hurried pace.
"It's time to go home," Yeonjun replied, his voice a little quieter than usual. He was clearly still preoccupied with his thoughts.
As they walked, Yeonjun suddenly stopped in front of a flower shop. He hesitated for a moment, then stepped inside. Wooyoung watched him curiously, wondering what he was doing.
"Hey, what are you getting?" Wooyoung asked, following him into the shop.
Yeonjun pointed to a bouquet of sunflowers, their bright yellow petals radiating warmth. "These," he said, a small smile playing on his lips.
"For her?" Wooyoung asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course, it's only for her," Yeonjun answered, taking a deep breath of the sunflower's sweet scent and smiling. "She's going to love this," he thought, a hopeful glimmer in his eyes.
As they walked, Wooyoung noticed Yeonjun slowing down, his gaze fixed on a particular house.
"Wait, are you going to stop here?" Wooyoung asked, recognizing the house as the one belonging to Yeonjun's crush.
"Just... leaving something," Yeonjun mumbled, his cheeks flushing red. He carefully placed the sunflower bouquet on the gate, making sure it was visible.
"Wow, the famous bad boy is turning into a hopeless romantic," Wooyoung teased, nudging Yeonjun playfully. "You're going to make her heart melt with those sunflowers."
Yeonjun rolled his eyes, but a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He couldn't help but feel a little bit giddy, even though he knew the chances of her ever noticing were slim.Little did he know, Yeji was watching him from her window, a soft blush creeping onto her cheeks as she saw him leave the sunflowers. She quickly grabbed her digital camera and snapped a picture of him, capturing the moment he placed the bouquet on the gate.
"Huh, why does he always put sunflowers on the gate?" she wondered, a happy smile on her face. She went back to her room, feeling a little excited.
When she got to the gate and saw the sunflowers, she quickly hugged them, their bright yellow petals felt nice against her hands. She felt really happy. She always loved sunflowers, and this little thing Yeonjun did, even though he didn't know she saw him, made her feel really special."I'm going to get to know him," she said, looking at the sunflowers in her hands before heading back to her room.
"You got a sunflower again, Yeji?" Mrs. Hwang asked, noticing the flowers in her daughter's hands. Yeji just nodded with a smile and left her mother, who was busy preparing their meal....
The next day at school, Yeji couldn't help but keep glancing around, searching for the boy who had left the sunflowers on her gate. She wanted to know his name, see if she could find out more about him.
As she walked through the school hallways, her eyes scanned the faces of every boy she passed. she can't stop her self to find him.
