The Mother Grub doesn't always create life, as a troll can opt to become the 'host' for a wriggler. This is usually successful with Jade Bloods, but any class or gender of troll can try to go through with the procedure. Low bloods usually have less of a chance in this working, however, and will usually rely on filling buckets to give to the Imperial Drones. Mutants have an even lower chance of having any descendants, and will have to fill up to 5 buckets in order to have any chance of continuing their blood line.
