It only takes one 3 week old grub to make a regular sized jar of grub sauce. Most lower-blooded trolls are against the idea of eating the blood and remains of their own kind, but trolls of a higher blood caste will often eat the condiment as a treat.
Culled grubs that were of royalty will not be used as an ingredient to the sauce, and any jars of the stuff in such colours is illegal. Although, if you're royalty yourself and your grub/s died of an early age, you can pay for them to be created into the gooey liquid. Think of it as a carnivorous cremation that would help a mourning troll feel a connection with their dead offspring.
