Jeongin volunteers to wake up Felix while Seungmin goes to wake up Jisung, not expecting to find a lethargic little...
-------------------------------
Jeongin's heart plummeted in his chest.
His mouth was reacting before his mind could, instantly crying out for Chan.
His voice echoed throughout the house like a desperate plea, his dolphin like screech waking anyone and everyone up who was still asleep. But he didn't care, this was an emergency.
Jeongin has never felt relief flow through him faster than when Chan's voice finally rang out from behind him. "Jeongin, what the hell? Why are you yelling?"
Chan's concern was evident as he approached, his eyes searching Jeongin's face for answers before falling to the pale toddler in his arms.
"I think something's wrong with Lixie..." Jeongin muttered, rubbing the littles back in an attempt to wake him up. "He's... He's really pale... He won't wake up.... Chan..."
Chan's expression darkened as he took Lixie into his arms, a surge of warry crossing his features as he also began rubbing and moving the little-- who just remained boneless in his arms. "Go get Minho, now," he commanded, his tone firm with a hint of underlying anxiety as he continued to assess Lixie's condition.
Jeongin has never run faster down the stairs as he did in that moment.
...
"What do you propose we do?"
"We can't exactly walk Felix into our local emergency department. We have no birth certificate, no insurance, nothing to really prove he even belongs to us! And we definitely can't whip out his photo ID-- they'd think we were insane to try and convince them that this is a 19 year old man. They'll think we fucking kidnapped him or something! Do you want him to get taken away from us?"
"His fever is fucking at 104, Minho," Chan hissed, stripping the little down to nothing but his diaper in hopes to cool him off. "He needs medical attention."
"Guys... Cool it. Let's just try to bring it down ourselves first..." Hyunjin suggested, looking over to a clearly frustrated Chan. "If it doesn't fall after some medicine and a bath we will go."
...
It felt like forever before a knock finally sounded on the door. Hyunjin lept up from the couch to go answer it, muttering a quick 'I got it' as he dashed towards the entrance. He almost slipped on the welcome rug as he fiddled with the door, his socked feet slipping and sliding all over the place as he fought to get the door open.
With Hyunjin now out of the way Changbin was able to get a good look at the little nestled tightly in Chan's arms. It was concerning how red Felix's cheeks were, clashing against his ill pale face. His fever was spiking concerningly high even with around the clock fever reducer, which is what lead them to their next course of action.
Felix wasn't going to like this.
Changbins eyes were glued on Felix as Hyunjin ushered their newly arrived guest inside, watching intently as the little breathed.
For every two breaths there was a startling pause before he started back up again. He sounded rather nasally, they properly should've taken his pacifier--
But that would've been a whole different battle.
"Lixie," Hyunjin softly called out, tucking a strand of hair behind Felix's ear as he gently roused the sick little.
Felix's eyes fluttered open once, twice, before widening as they landed on the familiar man over Hyunjin's shoulder.
He clearly remembered him— maybe it was the white lab coat that brought out such a traumatic reminder.
Dr. Yun.
Changbin doesn't think there's ever been a time where he's seen Felix move faster. Within a second he had managed to wiggle out of Chan's arms and was running across the room, dodging everyone who tried to grab ahold of him before diving into Changbin's arms for safety.
He needed comfort.
"NO!" He cried out, his Korean words tumbling out in haste as he raised Changbin's black muscle tee and slipped underneath, pressing his cheek tightly against his Hyung's bare chest as he sought solace by nuzzling the soft skin to calm himself down.
They would've stopped to take a second to praise Felix for using Korean- but not right now. No, right now was time for a battle.
Changbins arms immediately wrapped around the younger— whether it was a restraint or to provide comfort was unknown, maybe both.
"Lixie—" he began, only to be cut off with a heart breaking scream.
"NO!"
...
"Which one of you are the father of Lee Yongbok?"
"I am." Chan and Minho said in unison, and if it weren't for the dyer matter at hand, the rest of the group would've bursted out laughing at the pure disgust on both Chan and Minho's face-- even the doctor was sporting a confused look of his own.
"Oh... That's not a problem... We are very inclusive at this hospital..." The doctor stuttered, clearing his throat before continuing. "Uh, if you'd like to follow me this way..."
