Chapter 7: The Accident

The past

Han hears knocking on his door. It's like 2 am. Who the fuck!?
When he opens it. It's Chan. Man he looks wrecked. Chan is literally in tears. Snot sobbing. Han instantly gets worried.
Han-"Hyung what's wrong? Chan?"
Chan-"I lost her. I'm such an idiot. I pushed her away and now I lost her".
Han-"Hyung what are you talking about? Lost who? What's going on?"
Chan-"Vee. I pushed her away and straight into his arms. I ..."
Han-"Wait what? Vee slept with someone? Hyung, how do you know? What's going on talk to me please".
Chan looks at Han. Eyes bloodshot from crying.
Chan-"I realized I was being an idiot. That calling off the engagement and breaking up with her because Hyunjin has feelings for her was stupid. Yeah she has feelings too but she chose me. She stayed with me. So I went to the house. The door was unlocked" He looked like he was somewhere else. "And I heard her. I heard them. Upstairs"
Chan starts crying again.
Chan-"She...they...this is my fault. I pushed her away"
Han-"Hyung that's not fair. You can't take blame and they should be ashamed of themselves. How could Hyunjin do this? How could Vee?"
Chan-"Its not that black and white Han. He wasn't lying when he said he was there. She was blinded by loving me to see he was the one there. Loving her. Caring for her. I'm such an ass".
Han hugs Chan. They stay together and Han just listens to his hyung cry.
He's going to kill Hyunjin. After everything Chan has done for them. This is how he repaid him. By stealing the love of his life. His heart.

Hyunjin POV-Hyunjin wakes up wrapped around Vee. She's snoring lightly. He's glad she didn't freak out after they were done last night. He half expected her to push him off and kick him out. But she'd played with his hair until she couldn't take his weight on her anymore and just had him cuddle her. Looking at her sleeping peacefully all he could think is how much he loves her. If things could always be like this. But he knows better.

Vee POV-You open your eyes to Hyunjin staring at you. You hide your face in the pillow.
Vee-"Oh no" *you groan * "What did I do?"
Hyunjin-"Okay don't panic. Just breathe".
Vee-"Oh I am breathing. I can't believe the first thing I do when my fiance breaks up with me is sleep with the person he broke up with me because of. Like wtf is wrong with me?"
Hyunjin-"That wasn't the first thing. It's been like 3 weeks", he says sarcastically.
You look at him like seriously? Giving him the side eye. You crash into him and whine into his chest.
Vee-"Fuuuck Hyunjin, what are we gonna do? I can't marry him if I'm not fully all in. Obviously, I'm not if I just did this. I'm so confused."
The phone rings. You ignore it and then it continues. Then Hyunjin's cell and your cell light up. Wtf is going on.

Vee- "Hello? "
Binnie is crying. You can hear Leeknow in the back and IN and Seungmin. You sit up worried.
Vee-"Binnie what's wrong? What's wrong? What happened?"
Binnie-"Its hyung. CHANNIE hyung is gone. Hes dead Vee."
You felt like the world caved in. You remember feeling like you were falling. You heard a scream. Far away. Who is that? They had to be joking. Chan's....

(Back to present quick)
Han is thinking if he should tell you or not that Chan knew. That he'd gone to apologize but Hyunjin and you were already in bed together. Chan had said he wasn't going to fight him. He wanted you to be happy and would let you do what you had to do to decide what you wanted.

Past

Chan POV-Chan had fallen to sleep at Hans. They all had gotten their own places but still lived at the dorms for schedule. He smiled at the quokka sleeping. Left him a note and headed out to go to the studio. It was a nice. Peaceful day. No cars were out. It was super early. He was calm like something washed over him and he knew everything would be okay. He was turning right. One block away from the JYP building. He texted Vee to let her know what he'd decided. He never knew the message didn't send. As he hit the gas to go when the light turned green. A truck came out if nowhere. T-boned his car. Chan doesn't think he's ever felt more pain in his life. He tried fighting. He tried staying awake. He remembers feeling the paramedics. Someone telling him to hold on. Then he heard the flatline and he was gone.

Vee POV-

Hyunjin- "Vee. Vee what is it? Vee" He screamed shaking you.
You snap back into reality. Youre crying hysterically. Shaking. Youre nauseous. You look Hyunjin in the eyes.
Vee-"He's gone. Jinnie he's dead".
You start crying again. Hyunjin takes your cell.
Hyunjin-"Hello. Bin what's wrong? What's going on?"
Binnie-"Hyunjin. It's Chan hyung. There was a accident. They tried. They tried to save him but they couldn't. He died Hyunjin. CHANNIE hyung is dead"

Hyunjin drops your phone. He's in disbelief. This can't be happening. It isn't true. He gets up and starts getting dressed. The movement snaps you back to reality.
Vee-"Hyunjin. What? What are you doing?"
Hyunjin-"They're lying. This has to be the cruelest joke they've ever played. Fucking assholes".
He's dialing Chan in his phone. Goes to voicemail. It never goes to voicemail. He dials again. And again. He feels the panic rising. Fuck. He looks at you.
Hyunjin-"Im going home. I bet he's at the dorm".
You get up. Wrapped in his T-shirt. You grab his hand.
Vee-"Hyunjin" *you say quietly. Looking down at your hands * "They wouldn't play that kind of a joke. You know they wouldn't. It's not funny"
You look up to see Hyunjin's eyes full of tears. They start to slowly fall down his cheeks and he sinks down to the floor. He starts sobbing.
Hyunjin-"Hyung no, No. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry"
