After breakfast, the table was still cluttered with the remnants of our impromptu food fight. Laughter lingered in the air as I sat back, trying to ease the lingering discomfort from my stomach. Just then, the phone rang with an urgent tone, cutting through the light-hearted chaos. My new parents, James and Emily, exchanged quick, concerned glances before answering.

The conversation on the phone was terse and serious, their voices hushed but strained. When the call ended, they turned back to us, their faces set in determined lines.

"I'm afraid we have to leave right away," James said, a note of apology in his voice. "There's an urgent matter that requires our immediate attention."

Emily nodded in agreement. "We'll be gone for a few hours. While we're out, we trust you three to take care of Cath."

The brothers exchanged looks, their earlier playful expressions shifting to a mix of curiosity and responsibility.

"Looks like you're stuck with us," Derek said with a teasing smirk. "Hope you're up for it."

Michael, with a hint of seriousness, added, "We'll make sure you're well taken care of. If you need anything, just ask."

Ryan bounced in his seat, clearly excited about the prospect of spending the day together. "And we're taking you shopping! New clothes, new room, the whole shebang. What do you think?"

Emily nodded in agreement. "Yes, you can pick out whatever you like for your room, too. Make it your own. The house is big, and we want you to feel comfortable."

As Emily and James made their way to the door, Derek leaned closer to me. "So, Cath, what's your first impression of the place? It's a bit of a change from whatever you're used to, I'm sure."

I couldn't help but smile at his attempt to break the ice, though there was an edge to his teasing that made me wary. "It's definitely... a lot to take in," I admitted.

"Yeah," Ryan chimed in, "and if you think this house is something, wait till you see the shopping options. We'll make sure you get everything you need."

Michael glanced at Derek, an unspoken challenge in his eyes. "I hope you're ready to show her around properly. You've got to make sure she knows where everything is."

Derek's smirk widened, and he playfully nudged Michael. "Oh, I'm ready. Just don't complain when I pick out something ridiculous for you to wear."

Michael rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his smile. "Bring it on."

Emily and James waved goodbye as they headed out the door, leaving us with the promise of a day full of exploration and, hopefully, some fun.

"Alright," Derek said, standing up and stretching. "Let's get going. We've got a lot to cover."

Ryan bounced with enthusiasm. "Shopping first, then maybe we'll hit the mall and grab something to eat. Sound good?"

"Sounds like a plan," I replied, trying to keep my excitement in check. It was nice to see the brothers interacting so easily, even if Derek's teasing hinted at the playful conflicts to come.

As we made our way out of the house, I felt a mix of nervousness and curiosity. This was my new reality, and as much as I wanted to find comfort in it, there was still a lot I needed to figure out.

As we prepared to leave, I realized that the hospital gown I was wearing was far from ideal for a day out. The fabric was too loose, and it felt like it was swallowing me whole. I excused myself and headed upstairs, hoping to find something more suitable.

The bedroom door creaked softly as I opened it, revealing a walk-in closet filled with clothes. I rifled through the racks and drawers, searching for something that would make me feel more at ease. My fingers brushed against a pair of black pants and a grey V-neck sweater that looked both comfortable and stylish. I decided these would be perfect for today.

I changed quickly into the black pants and sweater. The pants fit snugly around my waist, and the sweater draped nicely, its soft fabric a welcome change from the scratchy hospital gown. I looked in the mirror, noting how the simple outfit accentuated my tanned skin and dark hair.

After changing, I grabbed a comb from the vanity and ran it through my slightly tangled hair, smoothing it out. I washed my face with cool water, letting the splash refresh my skin and clear away any lingering signs of fatigue. When I looked at my reflection again, I felt a bit more put-together and ready for whatever the day would bring.

I finished getting ready and headed downstairs, feeling a bit more like myself. As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I heard the sharp, eager honk of a car outside. The housekeeper, who had been bustling around earlier, guided me to the front door.

Stepping outside, I was greeted by the sight of a sleek, black Bentley Bentayga parked in the driveway—a luxurious six-seater that seemed to gleam with sophistication. The door to the car was open, and Derek, Michael, and Ryan were standing beside it. They looked up as I approached.

Derek was dressed in a classic navy blazer over a crisp white shirt, paired with well-fitted gray trousers. His shoes were polished to a shine, and his casual air of confidence made him look effortlessly stylish.

Michael wore a dark green sweater with a collared shirt peeking out from underneath, paired with dark jeans and brown leather boots. His outfit was understated but carried an air of quiet sophistication.

Ryan, the youngest, was dressed in a more youthful and trendy outfit. He wore a clean, white long-sleeve shirt with a light blue denim jacket over it. His jeans were dark and slightly distressed, and he completed the look with white sneakers. His outfit was stylish yet modest, reflecting his age without being too flashy.

Derek's eyes lingered on me for a moment, an expression of surprise flickering across his face. It was gone in an instant, replaced by his usual teasing smirk. "Well, well, look who decided to join the real world," he said as I neared the car.

Ryan, ever enthusiastic, chimed in, "Ready for a day of shopping and brotherly bonding? You'll love it—just wait till you see the mall!"

Michael, who had been quieter, gave me a small, reassuring smile. "Hope you're prepared for some serious shopping. We know all the best places."

I climbed into the car, taking a seat between Derek and Ryan. Derek leaned over, a playful glint in his eye. "Nice outfit, Cath. Did you pick it out yourself, or did you have a fashion consultant?"

I rolled my eyes, but couldn't help smiling. "I figured something simple would do. I don't want to outshine you guys."

"Oh, don't worry about that," Derek said with a grin. "That's a tall order."
