The next morning, Karina woke up to a warm ray of sunlight streaming through the curtains, gently casting its glow on her face. She stretched languidly, feeling Winter's presence beside her. Winter was still asleep, her head resting softly on Karina's shoulder, her breathing slow and even. Karina couldn't help but smile, a sense of peace washing over her. They had faced the world together, and for now, it seemed like they had weathered the storm.
She carefully slipped out of bed, trying not to wake Winter, and made her way to the kitchen. The morning was still early, the air crisp and fresh. Karina decided to make breakfast, a simple gesture of gratitude for everything Winter had been through with her. She whisked eggs, sliced fresh fruit, and brewed coffee, the smell filling the apartment with warmth.
As she set the table, her phone buzzed on the counter. She hesitated for a moment before picking it up, half expecting another wave of messages and notifications from fans and media alike. To her surprise, it was a text from her group members, Giselle, Ningning, and Aeri, in their group chat.
Ningning: "OMG! The interview is everywhere! You both look stunning, unnie! So proud of you! 💕"
Aeri: "Seriously, you guys broke the internet. I can't even check my social media without seeing your faces. 😂"
Giselle: "We're all behind you, Karina. You and Winter are amazing. Don't let the haters get to you."
Karina felt a wave of emotion reading their messages. She had been nervous about how her groupmates would react to her coming out, worried about the impact it might have on their careers as well. But their support meant everything to her, a reminder that she wasn't alone in this.
Karina: "Thank you, guys. I couldn't do this without you. Let's get together soon. I miss you all."
She set her phone down, a smile tugging at her lips as she turned back to the breakfast she had prepared. Just as she was pouring the coffee, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist from behind, and Winter's sleepy voice murmured against her ear.
"Good morning," Winter said, her voice soft and warm. "You're up early."
Karina turned in Winter's arms, leaning in for a quick kiss. "I wanted to make breakfast. It's my way of saying thank you for everything."
Winter smiled, her eyes bright despite the early hour. "You don't have to thank me, Karina. Being with you is all I need."
Karina felt a surge of love and gratitude as they settled down at the table, sharing the simple meal together. They talked about nothing and everything, enjoying the rare moments of normalcy in their otherwise chaotic lives. It was these moments that Karina cherished the most—where they could just be themselves, without the pressure of the outside world.
But as they finished breakfast, the reality of their situation started to seep back in. Winter's phone buzzed, and she checked it, her brow furrowing slightly. "It's a message from one of my designers," Winter said, showing Karina the screen. "Apparently, the press has been calling our office non-stop, asking for statements. They want to know if my relationship with you will affect our brand's image."
Karina felt a pang of guilt. She had anticipated media attention, but the thought of Winter's work being affected because of her made her stomach twist. "I'm sorry, Winter. I didn't mean for this to spill over into your professional life."
Winter reached across the table, taking Karina's hand. "Hey, it's okay. I knew what I was signing up for. We'll handle it. The brand will be fine. We'll find a way to turn this into something positive."
Karina nodded, grateful for Winter's calm and reassuring presence. She knew they would have to be careful, navigating the fine line between their personal and professional lives. But as long as they faced it together, Karina felt like they could handle anything.

Later that day, they headed to Winter's office at the design studio. As they stepped out of the car, a few photographers snapped pictures from across the street, their cameras clicking rapidly. Karina instinctively reached for Winter's hand, squeezing it for comfort. Winter squeezed back, offering a smile of encouragement.
Inside the building, the atmosphere was abuzz with activity. Winter's staff greeted them with polite smiles, though Karina could sense the curiosity in their eyes. Most of the employees were used to Winter's private nature, and seeing her arrive hand-in-hand with Karina, a world-famous K-pop star, was undoubtedly a surprise.
Winter led Karina to her office, a spacious room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. The walls were lined with sketches and mood boards, the desk covered in fabric swatches and fashion magazines. It was a creative space, a reflection of Winter's mind and talent.
As they settled in, Winter's assistant, Soo-jin, knocked on the door and entered, carrying a stack of papers. "Winter, we've received a lot of media inquiries, just as you said. I've compiled a list of the major ones. They're asking for interviews, comments, anything about your relationship with Karina."
Winter took the papers, skimming through them quickly. "Thank you, Soo-jin. Let's issue a standard statement for now—something that emphasizes our commitment to our work and our respect for privacy. We'll handle any specific requests on a case-by-case basis."
Soo-jin nodded. "Understood. I'll draft something and send it to you for approval."
Karina watched as Soo-jin left the room, feeling a mix of admiration and worry. Winter handled everything with such grace and professionalism, but Karina knew it couldn't be easy, juggling the demands of her career with the scrutiny of their personal lives.
"Are you sure you're okay with all of this?" Karina asked, her voice tinged with concern. "I don't want to put you in a difficult position."
Winter looked up, her expression softening. "Karina, being with you is the most important thing to me. Yes, there will be challenges, and yes, the media can be invasive. But we can't let that dictate our lives. I've built my brand on authenticity, and being true to myself. This is just another part of that."
Karina felt a sense of relief at Winter's words. "I don't know what I did to deserve you," she said, half-joking, but meaning every word.
Winter laughed softly, standing and crossing the room to where Karina sat. She leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to Karina's forehead. "You're you. That's more than enough."
---
As the day wore on, Karina found herself feeling more at ease. She watched Winter work, marveling at her talent and dedication. The way Winter interacted with her team, giving guidance and feedback, showed how much she cared about her work and the people who helped bring her vision to life.
Karina spent most of the afternoon at the studio, helping Winter wherever she could. She fetched coffee, organized sketches, and even tried her hand at pinning fabric on a mannequin under Winter's watchful eye. It was a world far removed from her own, but Karina enjoyed being part of it, even in a small way.
By the time they left the office, it was late evening. The streets were quieter now, the city bathed in the soft glow of streetlights. They decided to walk for a bit, enjoying the cool night air. It was moments like these that Karina cherished, where they could simply be together, without the noise of the world intruding.
As they walked, Karina felt a sense of peace settle over her. She knew there would be more challenges ahead, more media attention, and more scrutiny. But with Winter by her side, she felt stronger, more certain of the path they had chosen.
They stopped at a small park, sitting on a bench under a canopy of stars. Winter leaned against Karina, her head resting on her shoulder. For a while, they simply sat in silence, letting the calm of the night wash over them.
"Baby, I think we're going to be okay," Karina said softly, her hand finding Winter's.
Winter squeezed her hand gently. "We are. As long as we have each other, we can face anything."
Karina looked up at the sky, the stars twinkling above them. For the first time in a long while, she felt like everything was falling into place. Their love was out in the open, and though it came with its challenges, it also came with a sense of freedom she hadn't felt before.
As they sat there, hand in hand, Karina knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together. And that, more than anything, was all she needed to feel complete.
