Sal breathed in the warm air through his nose. It was nearly evening and he had a 'date' with Ash. The two were supposed to hang out at her house, she had just set up her art stuff in a little shed and wanted to share her new spot with Sal.

A painting date. God, Sal couldn't be more nervous. They were the two things he was terrible at; romance and painting. Larry and Ash always said that he never gave himself enough credit, but Sal disagreed. He just was not good at it, and that was okay with him. And, Sal would be lying if he said he wasn't stoked to see Ash. As nervous as he got, he was the happiest when he was with her. She brought him joy that nobody else could.

So, as he had arrived at the lavender two-story house, he took one concerningly deep breath and walked towards the front door. There were various little trinkets like wind chimes and other rinky-dink things. Clearly, Ash's parents were as artsy as she was, or, perhaps it was all Ash's doing. Shaking off all unnecessary thoughts, he pressed his stubby finger into the doorbell. A cute little rang could be heard from inside the house.

"Ashley, your little friends here!" He heard a man call out who he could only assume was Ash's father, Adam. It was followed with quick footsteps.

Sal played in his head how terribly this would go if her father answered the door. Anxiously, he adjusted his prosthetic until the door swung open.

"Sally Face!"

Sal's heart did somersault's as Ash came into view. Her long auburn hair was silky, freshly washed. It bounced as she stood up straight. Her smile was glimmering in the sunlight that reached her. Her lips were naturally pink and soft-looking. Her face was perfect. Her hair was perfect. She was pretty damn perfect.

"Hey Ash," Sal itched his head.

"Come in, please!" She giggled, hastily moving out of the way for Sal to join her inside. Sal listened, taking a step inside. "Okay, let's go to the backyard."

Ash she walked, Sal couldn't help but enjoy her gleeful aura. He felt a blush creep on his face as he eyes wandered where the shouldn't have. He looked into their living room as he walked, noticing a red-headed kid. His hair was buzzed short, and he had on a very punk-like outfit. He shared Ash's green eyes. Benjamin, Ash's little brother. He would totally get along with Larry.

Once the two were finally outside, Ash let the screen door crash shut. The loud noise startled Sal a bit.

"You okay?" She asked, apologetically.

"Yea- Yeah, I'm cool," Sal nodded.

"Ok." She mouthed, with a thumbs up. Ash then turned to a small looking shack that was covered top to bottom in color. "In a little bit we can sit out and watch the sunset tonight!"

Sal smiled to himself, imagining the two sitting together, watching the sun disapear into the horizon. The way Sal saw it, Ash was like the sun to his moon. She was always everything he wasn't. She filled the cracks in his broken heart, making it whole again. He wasn't sure if she'd ever know how much she meant to him. Maybe some day. He though about what their future could be like together. If she'd want to marry him, what would that be like? What would she wear, she looked beautiful in anything. Would she want kids? What would they look like?

He could've thought up a million questions right then and there if Ash didn't start talking.

"I wanna get a picture of the sunset tonight, if we do stay out to watch it," She tilted her head and tossed her shoulder. Man, was she so cute. "I'm planning on painting it!"
