Adam whistles softly to himself, his shoulder length hair pulled back into a neat ponytail as he saunters towards the mansion, one hand tucked into his pocket the other swinging lightly by his side
The vast estate is as grand as always perfectly manicured grass, towring fountains glistening in the sunlight and marble statues that seem to guard the path of the leading to the house
Adam pushed open the heavy front door without looking at guards and stepped inside, the entrance open up to a massive lounge its ceiling soaring high above, crystal chandeliers, plush velvet furniture, expensive paintings and gold accent everywhere
as he walks further inside, the low murmur of voices catches his attention, he rounds a corner and spots two figure seated on opposite ends of the room, on one sofa sits a woman her face marred by scars that seem to twist ger features into something almost grotesque, the burns on her skin contrast sharply with her elegant attire, her hands adorned with diamonds and rings that glint in the light, across from her on another sofa a young man with sharp and pretty features and a deep frown etched into his brow, his fingers gripping the edge of the sofa as he was talking
The moment he catches sight of Adam his eyes narrow with barely contained hostility, his conversation with his mother halts
"What he's doing here, Mother" he asked to his mother "why the fuck are you here?"
Adam unfazed merely smirks, he always finds people with anger issues amusing. Easy to rile up, Hes like a child trying too hard to play a grown up's game pathetic with a lazy shrug, Adam replies
"I'm here for work" his voice dripping with mock innocence"Get the fuck of out my house" his voice rises in pitch
He smirked "and why?"
"Because I said so"
Adam's smirk widens "careful, Shel, you wouldn't want to pop a vein in that pretty face of yours beside isn't it your brother's house ? Not yours?"
His mother's expressions darkened and his face twsist into fury and he rised from his seat, his hands balling into fists, "you--- you pathetic creature belongs to streets an---"
"Shelmose"
A voice cuts through his sentence, all heads turn toward the grand entrance, where Hashim stands at the top of the staircase, he looks down at them with calmness, his dark hair tousled as if he had just woken up from the voices, all the voices in the room fall silent
Hashim's gaze sweeps over his younger brother "enough already, ---I won't tolerate your childish behaviour again"
His mother smiles warmly at Hashim "Hashim, he's your little brother, spea--"
"Adam come to my office" he didn't bother to argue just signaled Adam to follow him
Adam throws one last smiling look at Shelmose "catch you later Shel, try not to get too worked up, yeah?" And turns to follow Hashim and didn't bother to look Shelmose's face full of rage and red
As Adam steps into office, Hashim wasn't there, the room was bathed in golden sunlight pouring through the open window casting a warm glow across the wooden desk, piles of books and scattered files cover the surface,
Adam hums to himself as he wanders over to one of the many over to one of the many bookshelves lining the walls,
his eyes scan the spines, reading the titles aloud "The Setting Sun by Dazai Osamu, hmm, --- Akutagawa, Friedrich Nietzsche, Ivan Turgenev---" he chuckles to himself shaking his head "Oh don't tell me you're into nihilisim,---"
