An old man sat near a fire in an old Japanese house when his apprentice walked in
R- sir it's getting late I've done all the cleaning and I'm leaving for the night
Sen- fine be safe going home
Rize gathered his things when he heard crying from outside
Rize opened the door to see a baby wrapped in blankets with a note attached to him
"Rize, take him to Sensei and meet me outside the Lab, I started this war and I will finish it."
Rize picks up the baby and takes him to Sensei
Sen- I do not want this child I have enough to deal with already
R- I understand that but you need to understand that this child is in danger and his parents will not stop at anything to kill him!
Sen- fine I will keep him until you and your wife return
R- thank you and by the way his name is Jaden
Sensei looks down at Jaden and he sees he has blue eyes
Sen- Oni....
-------Flash Forward-------
Jaden was cleaning up the garden when some of the Dojo kids walk past him
???- hey Oni! Catch!
Just then the kids threw a rock at Jaden's head causing it to bleed
???- Hahaha! I thought Demons couldn't bleed! Hahahaha!
Jaden just walks away not wanting to start a scene

Jaden walks out of the training room carrying broken wood and stone
When suddenly he's drenched in water
???- Hahaha! You smelled like a wet dog thought you could use a bath!
Jaden gets up and goes inside to dry off
Jaden doesn't want to be a monster

Jaden was walking when suddenly two kids grab him and push him to the ground
???- only pure blooded Samurai have long hair we thought you could use a haircut!
The kids cut off Jaden's hair leaving it uneven and short
Sen- ENOUGH ALL OF YOU!
All of the Dojo kids line up with looks of shame on their faces
Sen- Jaden get up and go home!
Jaden runs home not looking back to see the looks on everyone's faces
Jaden has never felt more humiliated in his life

Jaden was outside sweeping the leaves off the porch of the Dojo
When all of the boys gasp in awe
There was a girl with dark purple hair and violet eyes in a pink kimono
Her name was Mariko
???- Mariko's parents died in a horrible car accident you were her only remaining relative
Sen- I do not want a child! Take her to a foster care
???- sir we can't just yet not until we can find a family who wants her
Sen- fine she can stay until then

All of the boys were head over heels for Mariko she was very beautiful and everyone loved her
But she was given the title as
"the cold shoulder"
She would blatantly ignore everyone that spoke to her and she always had a very angry expression on her face
And not to mention that every boy got turned down when they tried to approach her
Mariko was definitely a cold shoulder
However....
There was one boy she would smile around
His name was Jaden
Jaden was the only one who treated her with kindness and treated her as an equal
She loved walking in the garden with him and she loved watching him clean he never talked but she loved the silence
She followed him everywhere never leaving his side
In the spring they would pick flowers
In the summer they would play in the river
In the autumn they would sit and drink tea
In the winter they would cuddle together near a fire to keep warm
One night however Mariko was walking home when a boy from the Dojo appeared out of nowhere
???- Lady Mariko, what is it that you find so interesting about that Oni
M- don't call him that he's not a demon now get away from me!
Just then the boy hit her and she fell to the ground
He pinned her down and tried to undress her
Mariko screamed for help when suddenly the boy was pushed to the ground
Mariko looked to see Jaden punching the kid ruthlessly into the earth
J- STAY AWAY FROM HER!!!

The boy was sent to the hospital and Jaden was banned from ever entering the Dojo again
As Jaden was walking down the path he heard Mariko calling him
M- Jaden wait!
J- Mariko go back you're gonna hurt yourself
M- I wanted to give you this.
Mariko puts a single Japanese Yen in his hand
M- it's not much but I hope it will remind you of me
Jaden smiles at Mariko when she leaned in and kissed him
Jaden walked down the path and never saw Mariko again
------------present day------------
Jaden was sitting in his room when he walked towards his dresser he dug through his clothes to find a little black box
He opens it to see a single Japanese Yen
J- I will never forget you Mariko that I can promise
Jaden will never love another woman more than he loved her
