Genre: little space
Caregiver: lee know
Little: han
Lee know sat beside Han on the couch, gently holding his hand as he stared blankly into space. It was days like these that were the hardest, where Han slips and Hannie take place
It had started a few years ago, after a particularly traumatic event. At first, it was just occasional episodes, but over time they became more frequent. Lee know had learned to recognize the signs: the vacant expression, the soft whine in Han's voice.
Lee knows heart went out to his boyfriend as he watched him struggle. He knew it wasn't Han's fault, that his mind was trying to cope with the pain of his past. But it was hard not to feel a pang of sadness, seeing the strong, confident man he loved reduced to a frightened, vulnerable child.
"Hey, Hannie ," Lee know said softly, using the nickname he reserved for these moments. "It's okay. I'm here."
Hannies gaze drifted to Lee know, his eyes unfocused. He whimpered, his lower lip trembling. Lee's heart broke a little more.
"It's okay, baby," Lee know repeated, pulling Hannie into a gentle hug. "You're safe. I've got you."
Slowly but surely, Hannie began to calm down. He nestled into Lee knows embrace, his head on Lee knows shoulder. Lee stroked his hair, speaking softly to comfort
. He began to babble, speaking in a language that was half-childish gibberish, half- fragmented memories. Lee listened attentively, trying to make sense of the words, but it was like trying to decipher a code.
Lee knew that Han wasn't really present in these moments. His mind was elsewhere, reliving the traumas of his past. But Lee was determined to be there for him, to hold him together until the storm passed.
As the day wore on, Lee know took on the role of caregiver, feeding Han, bathing him, and changing his clothes. Han didn't resist, didn't even seem to notice. He was lost in his own world, reliving memories that Lee could only guess at.
Lee know heart ached as he watched Han, seeing the fear and pain in his eyes. He wished he could take it away, make it all disappear. But he knew that wasn't possible. All he could do was be there, holding Han's hand through the darkness.
As the sun began to set, Han's regression started to fade. He looked up at Lee, his eyes clearing, and a confused expression crossed his face.
"Wee he whispered, his voice shaking.
"I'm here, baby," Lee replied, smiling softly. "You're safe."
Han's eyes searched Lee knows face, as if trying to remember what had happened. Lee helped him piece together the fragments of the day, explaining what had occurred.
As the truth sunk in, Han's face crumpled. He burrowed into Lee's chest, sobbing uncontrollably. Lee held him, rocking him gently, and whispering words of comfort.
"H-hannie s-sowwy ," Han whispered, his voice muffled against Lee's chest.
"You don't have to apologize, Hannie" Lee know said, his voice firm. "This isn't your fault. You're strong, and you're brave, and I'm here to support you, no matter what."
As Han's tears slowly subsided, Lee know held him close, feeling a sense of pride and love for the man in his arms. It wasn't easy, caring for him , but it was worth it, every single day.
Because in the end, it was all worth it to see Han smile, to see him laugh, to see him thrive. And Lee know knew that as long as he was by Han's side, he would always be there to catch him, to hold him, and to love him, no matter what.
