Timejump of a year
."I did it, guys!" I shouted with all my might. "I—I absorbed a seed!"
I learned from my book about a spell called 'Absorb,' which allows me to absorb an object and copy it whenever I want. Now I can plant as many seeds as I want! Over the past year, I've also mastered fire, electric, and air spells. My close combat training has been going great! I'm at the top of my class and super flexible now, thanks to Master Koushirous's hard training.
Kuina and Zoro looked at me, clearly impressed.
"Can you make a copy of it now?" Zoro asked.
I scratched the back of my head. "I haven't figured that part out yet. But don't worry, I will! And when I do, I'll look for the flowers I always wanted to grow for you guys."
"Can't wait," Kuina said with a smile.
I went to the library to see if there was any place in the village that grew these flowers. Sadly, I found no success. I grabbed the newspaper, since I hadn't seen Master Koushirou read it yet, and decided to skim through it. Pirate stuff, wanted posters, nothing new. But when I turned to the next page, my eyes widened. I ran out of the library and back to the dojo.
"Master Koushirou!" I yelled in panic. "Where are you?"
"What's the matter with you?" Zoro said, covering his ears. It seemed I had just woken him from a nap.
"Read this!" I said, shoving the newspaper in his face. He took the newspaper, glanced at it, and then looked back at me, shocked.
"80 million Berries. At least they don't know what you look like," Zoro said, trying to calm me.
"I guess, but what if someone from the dojo saw me using my magic? What am I supposed to do?" I said, panicking. My mind was filled with scenarios of the Marines destroying the village just to find me. If they went that far to kill everyone, they might go that far to kill me. My legs began to tremble, and I fell to the floor, clutching my head. Memories of what happened to my village and my parents flashed before my eyes. What if they did the same thing again to find me? What if they killed Zoro, Kuina, and Master Koushirou? Tears started forming in my eyes, and uneven breaths came from my mouth. I didn't know what to do. My head was spinning with all this negativity. I felt like I was going to explode.
"Don't worry, Yumi," Zoro said, sitting down next to me and pulling me into a hug. "Nothing is going to happen to you or any of us. And if anything happens, I will protect you. If anyone ever tries to report you, I will stop them before they can even pick up their transponder snail. I promise."
I hugged Zoro back and sobbed a little more. He was so warm. I rested my head on his chest, trying to calm down. His heart was beating fast, though. I looked up at him, and he was looking in the other direction for some reason. He realized I wasn't leaning on him anymore and looked down at me. That's when I noticed his red cheeks. I realized what was going on and also felt my face turn red. I pulled away from the hug.
"Thanks, Zoro. But I'm also ready to risk my life for the safety of you guys."
"Well, I'm stronger than you, so that doesn't make any sense," Zoro replied.
I decided not to respond and just rolled my eyes. His ego was just too big.
After what felt like forever, Master Koushirou entered the dojo. He asked what was going on, and I showed him today's newspaper. He was shocked but reassured me that we'd be fine as long as I kept my powers to myself and made sure to check my surroundings before using them. I agreed to this and we called it a day.
I mustered up the courage and walked to a nearby shop to see if they had any seeds. Still no success, until I found a little flower shop.
I walked in, and an older lady greeted me. She had a lot of pretty flowers. I didn't even know we had this kind of shop in the village.
