𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐗 streets felt colder than usual, like they knew something bad was about to go down. jimena's heart was pounding as she made her way through the block, heading straight to kay's spot. she was supposed to meet up with ethan, but everything about this meet felt wrong. something in the air just ain't sitting right with her. she pulled her coat tighter around herself, her mind racing with the choice she made earlier—picking kay over jayden.
after her encounter with the police and her argument with jayden, she decided to let her mind off of these stressful situations and go for a night out at the club with kay. but first, ethan, jayden's brother, wanted to meet her urgently. the two agreed on a spot nearby the club, and jimena headed there.
when she got to the building, ethan was already there, leaning against the wall with a blunt in hand, his eyes dark and unreadable. "yo, jimena," he called out, his voice rough. "you sure about this? choosing that snake kay over my brother?"
jimena took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "i'm sure, ethan. this ain't about you, jayden, or kay. this is about me. i'm tired of being stuck in the middle of y'all's beef."
ethan scoffed, flicking his blunt to the ground. "you think you can just walk away? nah, it don't work like that, ma. you chose sides, and now you gotta deal with the consequences."
she frowned, stepping back slightly as ethan took a step toward her. "ethan, don't do this. i ain't your enemy."
"but you ain't my friend either," ethan snapped, his tone dangerous. "jayden ain't gonna let this slide. you shoulda known better."
"so what? you gonna handle it for him?" jimena's voice wavered, fear creeping in as she realized just how serious ethan was.
"maybe i will," he replied, his eyes narrowing as he reached into his jacket.
before jimena could react, kay appeared outta nowhere, shoving ethan back. "yo, what the fuck you think you doin', ethan?"
ethan stumbled but quickly regained his balance, his expression turning murderous. "this ain't none of your business, kay. get the fuck outta here."
kay stepped between jimena and ethan, his voice low and threatening. "it is when you come after her. you don't wanna do this, ethan."
"or what?" ethan challenged, his hand inching toward his waistband.
jimena's heart was racing, fear gripping her as the tension between the two men reached a breaking point. "kay, please... let's just go."
but it was too late. ethan lunged at kay, and the two men clashed in a brutal struggle. jimena screamed, trying to pull them apart, but they were too caught up in their fight to notice her.
