Suki yawned when she woke, stretching her arms before gazing over at me.
I smiled over at her, hand under my head as she blinked sleepily.
"Tired?" I said then.
She yawned again and shuffled into the mattress. "What time is it?"
"Nine," I said then, smirking, "on the dot."
She opened one eye then, a warning look. "Is breakfast ready?"
"It's on the table," I said to her, "downstairs." I then smiled. "Just like my mistress asked."
"Liar," she said then, closing her eyes, "you would've have to get up for that. And I know you didn't."
"Would you like to look and determine for yourself?" I asked her.
Five minutes later, we were standing in the dining room.
Suki's eyes were widened as she stared at the giant table filled with plates of French toast, pancakes, hash browns, and scrambled eggs. There was also a large cup of syrup freshly warmed near the pancakes.
"What." She blinked.
I just gazed over at her in amusement.
Her brows drew together. "How did you do that?"
"My mistress said for me to make her this specific breakfast before nine," I said kindly.
"But you didn't leave bed."
"Nope."
She then gazed up at me, seeming genuinely confused. "How did you do this without leaving bed."
I looked down at her. "May I remind you that I have magic?"
"Oh," she said then, looking back at the table. "So...."
"Basically, I can make things move on my own," I said to her, smirking when she gazed back up. "Actually... I don't have magic powers. I'm not all spinney-fingers and sparkles! I have mind powers, is all. I can control and manipulate minds, and I can move objects with my mind, too."
"Horrifying," she replied.
"In short, I used my powers to make you breakfast while you were sleeping with me."
"Concerning," she said this time.
"And also had to kill a guy last night," I sighed, "he just walked in the room like he owned the place. Now he's swarming in hell."
"Alarming," she said now.
I gaze down at her then, irises glowing dangerously. "Are you going to eat?"
"Yes."
"Then why aren't you moving?"
"I am still in shock," she told me, staring at the table, "give me a second."
I chuckled. "Did you really think I could not do this?"
"Yes."
I then looked down at her. "My, my... you have poor expectations, don't you?"
"Apparently."
I gently pushed her back, and she stumbled a little. "Go on, Angel. Eat before I take you to work, okay?"
She blinked and stepped over to the table, sitting down on a chair as I stepped over.
As I gathered some of the meal onto her plate, she stared at me helplessly.
I then set it in front of her, and she picked up a fork and a knife before cutting into the food.
I then stood by her side, lashes lowering.
"Is it good?" I asked her.
She glared up at me as she chewed, swallowing finally. "You ask me a question right as I take a bite?"
"Well?" I said, not bothering to answer.
She then looked away, cheeks dusting a light red. "Yes."
My lashes lowered as a smile spread across my face. "Good."
