I bounced my leg and looked around the white room. I squeezed my nails so hard into my hands that they began to bleed. The door opened, and the nurse came in.

"Hi, honey." She said.

"I need to leave." I told her.

"You can't leave yet, dear. I'm sorry." She apologized.

"Why?" I asked.

"We need to get you back on your meds so you don't hurt yourself or anyone else." She explained.

"I won't. I wanna go home." I said.

"I know you do, honey. I can't let you unless you take your medicine. Can you do that?" She asked.

I sighed and nodded. She gave it to me along with a little cup of water. I took my meds and swallowed. I opened my mouth for her to check, already knowing the routine.

"Perfect. Your parents are on the way. You'll be able to leave tomorrow night." She told me.

I laid down on the bed with my back to her. She sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Why did you go off your medication?" She asked.

"I didn't mean to." I replied.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I ran low and forgot to refill it. I was too busy with life to realize I ran out." I told her.

She nodded and gently patted my leg. She stood up.

"Alright, hun. Your parents will be here in about thirty minutes. I'll let them in when they get here." She said.

I nodded.

♡40 minutes later♡

I was almost asleep when the door opened. I sat up and saw my mom and dad. They quickly came over and hugged me.

"Oh, baby. You're okay." Mom mumbled.

Dad was crying, which I don't see him do very often. It was off-putting.

"Clay, I'm so happy you're alright." Dad said, wiping his eyes.

I don't know how to feel. I feel numb right now. It's probably the strong medication for my manic episode.

"How do you feel, baby? Are you feeling better?" Mom asked, cupping my face in her hands.

I rested my hand on one of hers.

"I wanna come home." I mumbled, feeling my eyes water.

Dad frowned.

"You can come home anytime." He told me.

Thanksgiving break for school is in a couple of days. I can wait. I'll be fine.

Tears slid down my face. My mom carefully wiped them.

"My baby." She said softly.

Clay was released from the mental hospital, and his parents drove him back to campus. Sapnap decided to stay with Clay for a couple of days until the medication is fully working and Clay is back to his normal self. I decided to stay with Karl and Ryder.

"Karl, my birthday get-together is tomorrow." Ryder spoke up.

"I know." Karl replied.

"Did you get me a present?" Ryder asked.

"Of course I did." Karl stated.

"Okay. What is it?" Ryder asked.

"You'll see tomorrow. I don't wanna spoil it." Karl told him.
