A few days ago Zane Edwards the Captain of the football team followed me on insta, he liked my story and texted me I was pretty, I thanked him, since then we've been texting. He asked me an hour ago if I wanted to meet him today, I mean we've seen each other in school or at his games, but he meant like meet up, maybe it was him asking me out on a date. I'm honestly not sure. So anyway, I said yes, so here I am talking to him. Touching his arm?! What am I doing? He made me laugh and I just touched his arm. It seemed like he didn't mind though.
"It's getting pretty cold. Why don't we get in the car.", he smiled. "Yeah, sure", I returned him a smile.
We got in the car and when he started the car, I saw Christian standing in the door, jaw dropped. To be honest I liked that sight. I knew they didn't like each other. I had no idea why, but every game they exchange glares, filled with hatred."Sooo", I exaggerated the "o", "Where are we driving?", I asked him.
"We could drive to my house so I could drop my things off and change, after that we could get dinner somewhere.", he suggested. "Yeah, that sounds good.", I smiled again. After about 5 minutes we arrived at his house, he asked me if I wanted to go with him or if I wanted to wait in the car. I chose to wait. He got back after 10 minutes. He got in the driver's seat, "So where are we going?", I asked.
"It's just a little restaurant not far away from here.", "Okay, but I'm sorry I can't be out too long because I have an exam tomorrow.", I smiled sheepishly. "No problem. How long exactly till you need to be home?", he asked.
"Uhm...till ten.", "So we got 3 hours then? Well that's enough time.", he said.
I nodded with a smile.
We arrived shortly after, the restaurant was fancy, but luckily not too fancy, cause I was wearing simple jeans with a red long sleeved top. We sat down and looked at the menu. Nobody said anything, it wasn't like an awkward silence, but I couldn't say it was a fully comforting silence either."Good evening. Do you already know what you want to order?", the waitress came.
"Good Evening.", Zane answered, "I'd like a Steak and two glasses of red wine for me and the lady, please."
"Of course. What would you like?", the waitress asked me. "Uhm-I'd also like a Steak. Thank you.""So, Eliana, do you have any hobbies?", Zane asked me. "Yes, I actually write and read books.", I put a strand of hair behind my ear, nervous for his reaction. "Really?", he asked surprised and I don't know if I imagined it, but I heard a mockingly tone in his voice.
"Yes. Why are you so surprised?", I asked irritated. "I don't know I just didn't expect that.", he chuckled lightly, "So do you do any sports?", he asked me. "I go to the gym twice a week, and I swim, but not professional. Well I did when I was younger but then I got hurt and couldn't swim for two years. After that I just didn't wanna go back so now I just swim sometimes when I feel like it." Shit. That always happened when I'm nervous, I talk too much. I give unnecessary information.
"Okay. Nice.", he smiled, lucky for me not really looking uncomfortable. I cleared my throat. "Soooo", I said exaggerating the "o" again, "Do you do any sports? I mean I know you do. You're the Captain of the football team. And you were in the gym today. But maybe besides those things. Maybe it's a stupid question I don't know.", seriously, someone stop me. I was talking too fast, I knew he was secretly uncomfortable, I think. He still didn't look like he was in any way, he just kept smiling. And he looked really cute doing it too.
"I'm sorry, when I'm nervous I talk and talk.", I said with an embarrassed smile, my voice low. "Don't be sorry. It's cute."
"Okay.", I chuckled flattered, feeling my cheeks turn pink. Our waitress came with a bottle of red wine. I didn't really like red wine, I could drink it but I couldn't enjoy it.
I smiled, "Thank you", I said. He nodded. Zane took the bottle and poured the wine in. "Here you go.", he said, giving me a glass half filled with the red beverage. "Thanks", I repeated. The food came shortly after. We talked a little more and the mood got lighter. After about an hour we were done. I forced the wine down, out of politeness. "Do you want anything else?", Zane asked me when the waitress came. "No, thank you", I answered with a thanking smile. He nodded, returning a smile, then turning towards the waiter, "I'd like to pay now.", he said and payed. "Thank you again for the dinner.", I said as we walked out the restaurant. "Of course. You don't need to thank me.", he said. We got in the car. "What time is it?", he asked me. "It's eight thirty.", I said, looking at my phone, seeing a missed call from my mom. I didn't tell Marco about the talk I had with her a few days ago. I didn't know why, but it wasn't really necessary. I think. I deleted the message from my Lock Screen and turned to look out the window, that's when I noticed we were driving to Zane's house again. "Oh, are we driving to yours?"
"Yeah, if you don't want to I can drive you home though.", he looked confused at the "Oh" and the tone that escaped my lips. But I didn't not want to, I just didn't want to meet his family right now, that would be weird. He started talking again, "I just figured it would be more comfortable alone, my parents aren't home, so...", he said nervously. "No. Sorry. We can drive to yours. I just didn't expect it.", I answered quickly. His tense expression lightened.Hey guys! Sorry I'm late, but here's the next chapter.
