It was game day. I was walking onto the field. Everyone was cheering. Half of the girls from school were wearing my jersey. I was looking through the crowd soaking in the applause, when I spotted a particular girl. Eliana. She was also wearing a jersey I couldn't see from which player. I was hoping it wasn't Zane's. She could wear anyone's jersey, but not Zane's.

The games started and we won 5:2. I changed into my sweats and walked out the locker room. I saw Zane and Eliana talking. I rolled my eyes. She was smiling again. They were smiling. Both. I forgot the way I despised  Zane's smile. I had to walk past them. I really didn't want to, but I was moving towards them.
I blinked. Nothing more. I just blinked. And suddenly saw how Zane got closer. His lips closer to hers than I'd like. I clenched my jaw, but kept walking.
I swear, all I did was blink again, and their lips were touching. It wasn't even a short peck. No. It was a long kiss. Too long.
Now I could make out the name on the back of her jersey. Edwards. Fucking Edwards. I clenched my jaw harder. I was so close to them. But they didn't notice me. Before I knew what I was doing, I 'accidentally' pushed Zane with my shoulder away from her.
I couldn't hide my smirk at the anger in his eyes. "Oops. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Didn't want to ruin your moment.", I said sarcastically. Eliana rolled her eyes. "Don't worry you didn't.", Zane answered as he turned around to Eliana again, grabbed her face and kissed her. I saw her surprised face. She didn't look comfortable.
I grabbed Zane by his shoulder and pulled him away. He turned around and pushed me back. I stumbled back a little. I started grinning, loving this. How he thought he was so much stronger than me. I looked down at him amused. He wasn't that much smaller. But still you could see the height difference.
He noticed me grinning and his anger grew. "Go fuck yourself dude.", he said, turning around again to grab Eliana, but she pulled her arm away. "What's your problem?", he asked annoyed. She scoffed, rolled her eyes and walked away.

"You can fucking forget the "truce"!", he yelled. "That's fine," I simply answered, "I don't need your "truce"."
"You won't steal her away from me. She likes me! Not you!", he yelled. I didn't answer. I was still grinning. "I don't want her to like me. I don't want her period. But I don't want her to be with you either. Because you're an asshole.", I shrugged both shoulders. "Son of a Bitch", he mumbled, walking off.
Today was a good day. The best this week. First the win, now Eliana and Zane fighting.

I grabbed my bag, still satisfied, and walked towards my car. I opened the door and climbed in.
I arrived at home not much later. I got out of the car, and grabbed my bag. When I turned around and headed to the door I saw a small brunette sitting on the stairs. I was surprised, because she didn't know where I live. At least I never told her.

Her head hung low and I was wondering if she had a fight with Zane and finally saw that I was right, but jeez I was wrong. I realized that when our eyes connected and her face turned from 'waiting' to 'anger'.
I walked up to her still confused how she found out where I live. She stood up walking (almost stomping) towards me. "How do you know where I l-", she pushed me. I forgot how much power she can have. I steadied myself by taking a step back.
Not because I was terrified of how she found out where I live, and if she would beat me to death now. "What the hell, Christian?!", she took my bag out of my hand. Yep. She will beat me to death with my own bag. "I - How do you - Wha-", I didn't know with what to start. What do you mean? How do you know where I live? What is going on? "You know what. No. I will talk now." She threw my bag on the floor. Better than getting beaten up with it.
"What was that with Zane today?!", she asked. I waited before I replied just to check if she had anything else to say before it was my turn. But she made waiting look and raised her eyebrows impatiently. "Uhm, I accidentally pushed him.", I wanted to add that I already said that, but it wasn't accidentally. Besides I didn't want to challenge her. "Oh you pushed him 'accidentally'?! Yeah no. No one buys that bullshit. And even if so, the second push wasn't accidentally.", she said. I stayed silent again for another second. She made another impatient, encouraging look. "Fine.", I sighed. "But the second one was because you looked uncomfortable." "Well I wasn't. And even if I was that wouldn't be your problem." "You're right. Sorry, I didn't want him to eat you right in front of me. Without you even wanting it!", I answered, getting frustrated. "Ex-fucking-cuse me?! What is wrong with you?! Seriously!", she asked, starting to yell.

Maybe the day wasn't as great as I thought after all.

"Eliana, I don't think this is worth arguing over. Go home please." I didn't wanna talk about this anymore.
"Stop that.", she said frustrated. "Stop what?", I asked. "You're talking to me like I'm a child who doesn't want to accept the fact they can't have any candy." I raised a brow. "Yeah. That tone you're using. How you say my name. It's rare that my name leaves your lips. Normally it's 'Torres' or 'Darling', but now, now Eliana is acting like a child so big, strong Christian has to act like an adult which he's normally not capable of!", her voice grew louder with every word. "Calm down.", I answered. "What if I don't want to? Hmm? Are you gonna make me?", she threw back angry. "Maybe. But that's not the point. The point is, you're making this a bigger deal than it is." I was getting frustrated too. She's overreacting.
"You know it's your fault that Zane and I broke up?! All yours!", what? "Thank god", I murmured. She glared at me. "Pardon me?", she gritted through her teeth. "Thank god.", I said louder. "He's not good for you."
She sighed exhausted, "Stop saying that." "But it's true.", I said. She looked at me exhausted but still a little angry. "You know it seems like no one is. You remember about 10 months ago? When there was this guy, Oliver. We went out on a few dates and you told me, he isn't good for me either...if none of them are, then tell me. Who is?", she looked at me waiting for an answer. Her eyes softened a little. I don't know. Who is? "I, uhm, one day maybe we'll find him.", she rolled her eyes. "Wow that helped.", she looked at me. "But I'm serious."
I didn't have an answer. I just looked at her. I don't know. We stared at each other. Her lips parted. I looked back at her eyes. Was there always this gold spot in them. Look away. But somehow I couldn't. It's like something just happened. Like someone pushed a button. Everything but her drowned in my vision. I didn't know if I wanted this to happen. I didn't want it to stop either though.

I cleared my throat, "Eliana I think you should go." I realized I used her name again. I didn't know she got so used to me calling her 'Torres' or 'Darling'. "Sorry." I cleared my throat again, "Correction. Darling, I think you should go.", she rolled her eyes, but I saw her hiding her smile. "Okay. Fine.", she turned around. "Bye Torres.", I yelled after her. She turned her head. "Bye Baker"

What just happened?

Hey guys! I'm sorry this chapter took so long. I currently can't really find the motivation to continue this story. I will finish it though. The chapters just might take a little longer than a week. Also I'm rapping it up, So the story won't have so many upcoming chapters. I will write at least 5 more (I'll try to exaggerate them). I'm really sorry. But like I already mentioned, I'm working on another series. I'm putting more effort in that series right now. So if you liked this one the series will be even better. I'm still gonna start with the next chapter on this one in the next days.🫶🏼
