                              SNUBBED PAIN

It was a sunny  Monday morning and I was at MARGARET AND SHINE newspaper company

where I work as the personal assistant to the auditor in chief Miss Madison pillars

I won't say my boss is the most pleasant person to work with but at least she is far better than the previous place I had worked at

I was organising today's schedule and work when I heard her call my name

Elizabeth  miss pillars call out to her

Yes ma I replied

Could you  hurry up with that outlining that is needed for tomorrow news , I need to go through  the headlines before it being distributed by the vans 

And also tell John he is  to print it out tomorrow  morning as early as 4

Ok mam  Elizabeth answered as she got the said headlines ready

And  walked towards her bosses office to deliver her documents , Here it is mam Elizabeth said to her

Miss pillars stopped typing on her system and collected the papers from me

Oh Elizabeth thank you , your a lifesaver I don't know what I would have done if you not here miss pillars said

Elizabeth smiled softly at the side compliments her boss gave to her , You welcome ma am just doing my job I said

As I turned to leave my boss called me back and said

We have a special guest coming this afternoon,  I will like you to go with me at lunch with her miss pillars said

Ok ma Elizabeth said and then asked  what time should I be ready for the lunch meeting?

Miss pillars looked at her watch and said you come and get me by 2: 45 

Alright ma Elizabeth nodded and left the office to get back to her desks

So how was your date last weekend did you enjoy yourself James asked as he stood before Amara in her office

Amara didn't answer or bother to acknowledge James she just continued looking through what was showing on her computer

James Sighed a little bit , as he can't believe Amara is still treating him as if it was his fault in what happened two years ago

So  he proceeded to sit  down on the seat beside Amara desks as he feels it is time for the both of them to talk

He proceeded to  the discussion by saying

Amara what happened two years ago was not my fault, if you remember clearly I told you we shouldn't go out  that night but you refuse,  in fact you was persistent on going to that club

You said since it was our last night in America we should accept the the free club , free drinks that was offered by the Wilson's 

But what I don't understand is why you will think the Wilsons will just treat us nicely after we rejected their business proposal

You should have noticed the red flag when they gifted us that outing but no you didn't , rather you did the opposite and went ahead to fall into a trap that was set by them

And now two years later I am being punished for a crime I didn't commit

Or hold on let me ask you this   was I the one responsible for you going out with that girl ? Did I introduce you to her Amara ? James demanded with an angry voice

You were the one who went out with her , slept with her and now I am being ignored as if I was the one who planned the whole thing

Amara stopped typing as James words hit her in places she didn't want

At this very moment  thousands of  thoughts had began to swirl Inside her head , she could also feel her anger began to rise

How dare James barge into her office and start spitting out  rubbish that happened in the past

Who the hell did he think he is that he feels he has the rights to question her distance from him

Why  can't he understand  the facts that  she doesn't want to remember what happened or talk more  about it

Why is he suddenly being persistent about the matter like her family , trying to get her to talk about it

For goodness sake why can't they just  let it go and focus more on work it not everything that should be analyse

And Since when does she answer to him or since when  does he tell her how to act and behave

Amara could feel the blood rushing to her head in fast pace as  she then turned slowly towards James and said calmly trying to reign in her anger and not lash out at him like her mind is telling her to

I hope you realise it your boss that you are  speaking to, and the way you just blab your mouth towards me is disrespectful if you don't like the way I conduct my  response to an ordinary employee as you

I suggest that you turn in your resignation letter and quit so I can  stop receiving  headaches from you and your nonsense questions

And besides this is a place of work not your therapist house , if you need someone to talk to go and book an appointment with a therapist

Because I don't have time for any emotional talk you think you can drag me into Amara said  with an icy tone her eyes blazing with anger

James looked at Amara in shock how can she just ask him to quit knowing fully well it was because of her he was employed at the first plac

Looking at her now and how she just casually dismissed him hurt him alot

Amara words has shown that she in not interested in trying to understand him and what he needed them to talk about

Now he  knows there is nothing he can say that will get her to open up and  talk to him in other for them to  resolve this silent cold treatment she has been giving everyone  including him

He is still not used to her treating him as a stranger but as it stands now there's nothing he could do no more

He took a deep breath and brought out the document he had  came to deliver  earlier on before their little talk,  he  dropped the documents at  Amara desk and said

I have had hope that we might actually resolve this issue and move forward

But I can see that,  it is not what you want and I don't know how to  cope  with the way your always treating me

As if everything that happened two years was my fault,

It wasn't my fault Amara and neither is it yours I hope you sit down and think about it and move forward in life

The past has happened you should try leave it  there and stop carrying it around

I will leave you be now James said and walked out of Amara office

As I heard my office door closed I stood up from my desk and walked to my favourite spot at the window

I had earlier on  removed my jacket as it was getting in my way of work

James is stupid if he thinks she has  time for any sympathetic talks

It high time him and everyone just accept the new me and leave me be

And Moreover am getting married soon they should be jubilating about it  , and stop hounding me with questions on what happened two years ago
