(Author's POV)

It was near evening, with the sun setting over the horizon. It was a particularly cool day, but none of that matters right now.

Hello, my dear readers.

Today, we're gonna take a look at a particular boy.

The camera pans over to a two story house, where at the window we could see the boy staring intensely at the computer screen while his mouse and keyboard frantically.

A boy with... No particular qualities.

With short and straight (H/C) hair and his (E/C) glued to the computer screen, he was focused. He was in the ZONE.

He wore (F/C) pajama pants and an undershirt, with empty soda cans piled up on his trashcan.

The (F/C) glasses reflecting at his current fixation, it felt like nothing could stop him.

And his story... Has no significance whatsoever...

(Y/N): GOD DAMMIT!

The boy was named (Y/N) (L/N). He was in his second year of high school, and he just lost a game at Overwatch.

(Y/N) (L/N)
"THE LONER BOY"

He slammed his poor mouse on the desk in exasperation, with an anime tick mark pulsing at the side of his head.

(Y/N): I was healing you, and you decided to walk off point and C9! You have braincells so FUCKING USE THEM!

You can hear knocking on your bedroom wall, with your sister yelling out from her room next door that you need to calm your ass down.

After yelling a half-assed apology, you decided it would be wise and just stopped playing Overwatch for the day.

You decided to lay on your bed for the time being, taking the dark orange glow of the sunset filling your room. You then turned your head at the wall, where your calendar was hung. Circled in red was a Monday, a new beginning of the new school year.

Oh right, I should probably give you some context before proceeding.

So until a couple of weeks ago, you were considered an anti-social person. Only talking to others if absolutely necessary. You always sat alone at lunch, sat at the corner of the class, and kept to yourself while listening to videogame soundtracks.

Until you met someone.

His name was Maxwell. He was a transfer student from a different country, and he was considered a happy-go-lucky person by other people. When being introduced to the class, his eyes laid onto your sulking form. Despite everyone's desperate attempt for attention, he asked the teacher to sit next to you.

You kept your usual procedure of being quiet, only paying attention to your class work and your music in your earbuds.

With determination though, Maxwell was able to get you to talk, at least having some ground when he mentioned his liking for videogames with similar tastes to yours.

With enough time, Maxwell was considered your first and only real friend in high-school. No matter what anyone said, he stood by your side.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, your family received an opportunity to get better paying jobs in the next town over. This unfortunately put a damper in your plans for a high school with an actual friend.
