now that that's out of the way, i'd like to acknowledge my very good friend Caitlyn. she helped me come up with the idea that is now one of the backbones of the story (no spoilers!) and this book wouldn't have been as good as it is without her, so thank you so so much, and i love you so much!!!

couple more things!! the chapters aren't labeled how they would typically; I linked a song to each chapter to really captivate the feeling I was going for, which will also be the name for each of them (you'll see what I mean eventually!!). for this author's note I linked probably one of my favorite songs ever, "let the light in" by lana del rey, featuring father john misty. it's honestly hard to choose one favorite song!!
