Flashback
"Dad?" I knocked gently on his study door.
He looked up and smiled at me, his face calm but curious. "Yes?" he asked, his brows raised ever so slightly.
I stepped inside and sat down on the chair across from him. My heart thudded a little faster than usual.
"Actually... I wanted to talk to you about something important," I said, my fingers fidgeting slightly on my lap. "I want to go abroad for my studies."
He looked at me, surprised. "But you can continue your studies here too, beta."
"I know, Dad... but I just... I want to leave this place for now. A change of environment would really help. And you know what? Mr. Khanna has just opened his new, huge coaching institute in New York."
"Mr. Khanna?" His eyes lit up in recognition. "The famous Indian businessman?"
I nodded. "Hmm."
"But... his coaching centres are here too, aren't they?" he asked with a frown.
"I know, Dad," I said, softly but firmly. "But the one in New York is on a completely different level. It's exclusive. And it's specifically designed for people like me who want to pursue business at a higher level."
He stayed silent for a moment, probably weighing things in his head. "Are you sure?" he finally asked. "And what about your mother? Will she even allow this?"
"I'm completely sure. And yes, Mom has already given her permission," I said with a hopeful smile.
His eyes widened. "Wait... really?"
"Hmm," I confirmed with a small grin.
"Then..." he paused for a beat, "I guess I have nothing else to say."
