Moon Byulyi frowned as she watched the popular hot guy kiss the unpopular lead character. She rolled her eyes at the scene. She hated these kinds of movies so much. She was incredibly irritated that she actually sat through three Rom-com movies.
Her best friend, Jung Wheein, had a love for this genre of movies. Especially troupes like She's All That, Can't Buy Me Love, and The Duff, all the movies they just watched.
The credits weren't even over yet, and Wheein was already choosing another one, To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
Byulyi immediately reached out to stop the younger girl from pressing play. "Please Wheein, no more!"
Wheein just giggled, "Unnie, I told you I was doing a Rom-Com binge today, why'd you sit through all that if you hate them so much?"
Byulyi just crossed her arms and leaned back on the couch, pushing up her glasses.
Wheein smirked. She knew why, but the blush on her unnie's cheeks was always so adorable. Byulyi was willing to watch movies she disliked just because she wanted to spend time with her. This is why they were best friends.
They did stuff together even if one of them didn't like it.
"Whatever..." Byulyi mumbled, the red in her cheeks fading a little.
Wheein just smiled and rolled her eyes. "Why do you hate them so much anyway?"
Byulyi just sighed and shrugged her shoulders. "They're so...unrealistic, honestly the main character for She's All That was already pretty without that makeover, which makes the lead guy seriously shallow for only starting to see her as an option when he finds that she can be pretty."
"So, you think love stories like these won't happen in real life?" Wheein asked.
"I..." Byulyi thought carefully. "...do think it happens. I just think it's overused."
Wheein giggled. "Looks like we agree on one thing...but I still love them though."
Byulyi sat up and turned to her best friend. "Why do you like those movies so much? I'm pretty sure you've watched She's All That a million times already."
Wheein sighed dreamily. "There's something about the popular guy putting aside his popularity to date the girl he wants, despite the judgements from his popular friends."
Byulyi smiled and just chuckled at the look on her friend's face. "Alright, I'll let you dream."
Wheein grinned at the older girl. "Thank you."
"You're very welcome." Byulyi stood up. "Now, what about we take a break and go to a convenience store?"
Wheein jumped up and led the way. "That's definitely an acceptable reason to stop watching!"
Byulyi just laughed and followed the girl.

They sat at the seats looking out the window when they heated up their ramen. Byulyi smiled as she saw the excitement in Wheein's face.
"I'm still amazed at how excited you get in front of food." Byulyi commented.
Wheein grinned. "How can I not? Look at the glorious ramen in front of us!"
Byulyi raised an eyebrow, looking at the ramen in front of her, it still had the lid on. "So beautiful..." She said, sarcasm lacing her words.
"We'll see it when the ramen is cooked." Wheein mumbled, looking away.
