after receiving the news lucy danes never, ever wanted to hear, lucy isn't sure how to react or move forward. afraid to turn to her father about this, lucy does the only thing she can think of. she focuses solely on everything but this shocking and horrifying discovery.

now moving into her second year of college, lucy and tristan prepare to move forward with their relationship and move in together. they found an apartment, and the idea of living with her boyfriend is exciting, but with recent events, lucy struggles to balance her life with tristan, school, and this terrifying weight hanging over her head.

luke danes is now dating lorelai gilmore, and while lucy is happy for her father, she has deep hatred for lorelai's daughter, rory gilmore who she annoyingly has to see most days at college. after news broke out about lindsay and dean's marriage, lucy and addy reunite to stir a lot of trouble in the town of stars hollow for the sake of their best friend, and lucy goes into her second year of college despising rory gilmore.

tristan and lucy find themselves at a crossroads several times due to lucy holding in her feelings, and tristan tries to show her that he is the only person who will ever be there for him, but she keeps holding back. she's afraid, and she doesn't know why, but she struggles to confide in the one person she always turns to, and she hates it.

everyday, she walks into college and always bumps into that professor── the one who dropped this bomb on her. they stare at each other awkwardly, and then they walk away, deciding to not talk again. lucy doesn't want to connect with her, and refuses to get to know her. however, it's impossible to stay far away from her. lucy needs to tell her father, but she really doesn't know how to approach it, and with her cousin being the only one she can confide in about this query, lucy struggles to cope. in college, it seems it's hard to stay away from the ones you hate.

her first year of college was difficult and nerve racking, but now she's onto her second year, and with all that happened in her first year, lucy starts to slip up, and that's the last thing she wants.
