|| Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's Point of View ||

Briiiing.

The bell signaling the start of lunch echoed through the classroom, bringing an end to the lessons.

All morning, the new transfer student, Amasawa Ichika, has been staring at me. Her gaze hasn't wavered, not even once. She isn't making much of an effort to hide it either.

It's been hours, and I'm starting to wonder if there's something on my face. A smudge? A mark? Some cryptic sign that says, "Free food if you stare long enough"? Or perhaps it's  one of those peculiar phenomena,  like "love at first sight."

If it were the latter...

"Kiyotaka-kun, let's—"

Alya started to speak to me, but the rising excitement from our classmates swallowed up her words. Their attention was immediately drawn to the transfer students, Yagami Takuya and, of course, Amasawa.

A crowd began to form around them, questions flying in rapid succession.

"Is that your natural color?" one of the girls asked Amasawa.

"I've never seen anyone with hair like that! It's so vibrant," another added, leaning in a little too eagerly.

"Do you dye it, or is it some kind of special shampoo?" a guy queried from the back.

Amasawa,  seemingly unfazed, responded with a smile. "It's natural," she said. Her tone was composed and polite despite her initial first impression.

Their attention remained fixed on her, especially her striking red hair. But soon, the focus shifted to Yagami, the other transfer student, as expected.

Though, I  couldn't help but notice something. It wasn't just a casual observation—rather, a quiet note of interest. Both Amasawa and Yagami had similar physiques. Sturdy yet lean.

Yagami, despite his... youthful appearance, clearly had physical strength hidden beneath his terse build. He and Amasawa most likely trained at home or were good at sports—either way, it wouldn't matter in the end as long as they kept away from class politics.

I highly doubt it though...

The way he walked into the classroom, and the way he carried himself—set the atmosphere at ease, which suggested he had a natural ability to adapt to social situations. That level of poise,  especially in a new environment, was worth noting.

And then there was the matter of familiarity between the two. Amasawa's casual introduction of Yagami hinted at a personal connection, making it clear that they knew each other before transferring here.

This was a small but important detail.

While  I was quietly observing, Yagami seemed to notice my gaze. Amid the chattering students, he offered a friendly wave. I returned it, though I  didn't dwell on it for long.
