As Dunk rushed into the classroom, already a bit late, he noticed everyone staring at him with shocked expressions. He glanced around, puzzled. Did I forget something? he wondered.

His friend Boss, an actor who was sitting near the front, waved him over. "Dunk, you’re not going to believe this," Boss began, leaning in as Dunk took a seat next to him. "You’ve been chosen as the Freshy Boy representative for our department."

Dunk blinked in surprise. "Me? But... why? I thought for sure Joong would get it."

Boss shrugged. "Joong's in the running too, but they picked both of you. Only one of you can actually represent the class, though."

Dunk glanced across the room where Joong, tall and handsome, was glaring at him. The senior boys were already rallying behind Joong, confident in his chances. The senior girls, however, seemed to be on Dunk’s side, voicing their support.

"Girls supporting Dunk? What a joke!" one of the senior boys scoffed, earning a few chuckles from the group. Joong didn’t say anything, but the way he smirked in agreement stung.

Dunk clenched his fists under the desk. He didn’t want to fight, but something about Joong’s attitude pushed him. He’d never been one to back down from a challenge, and now, he had a new goal in mind.

If Joong thinks he’s got this in the bag, Dunk thought, then he’s got another thing coming.

He turned to Boss with a determined smile. "Guess I’ve got a competition to win."
Joong had always been the confident type. He knew he had the looks, the charm, and the wealth that made people naturally gravitate toward him. From the moment he set foot in the university, he was sure he’d be the one to represent the first-year medical students in the Freshy Boy competition. It was a prestigious event, and being chosen was like an unspoken acknowledgment of being the best—something Joong was used to.

That morning, as he sat in the lecture hall, he noticed a group of seniors entering. Here it is, Joong thought with a smirk, straightening in his seat. They're going to announce it’s me.He could almost hear the applause in his head, feel the pat on his back from his classmates. The anticipation was palpable as the seniors gathered at the front of the room, calling for attention.

One of the senior boys, tall and broad-shouldered, cleared his throat and began to speak. “We’re here to announce the candidates for the Freshy Boy and Girl competition. After a lot of discussion among the seniors, we’ve come to a decision.”

Joong’s heart raced in excitement. This is it.

“And the first nominee for Freshy Boy from the medical department is... Joong.”

The class burst into applause, and Joong allowed himself a small, satisfied smile. He had been expecting this. But then, the senior girl next to him raised her hand to quiet the room. "But," she added, "we’ve also decided to give Dunk a chance."
