After being swept by Abbas's indifferent gaze and taking another look at the deep groove in the wall, the terror on everyone's faces reached its peak. They glanced at the open door not far away, and after a brief hesitation, they finally made a decision and rushed toward the exit in a frantic scramble.Even though the icy girl had already said, "Those who try to escape will die," and they had witnessed someone being instantly frozen into an ice corpse the moment they tried to cross the threshold, they knew that staying would only result in being sliced in half by Abbas's blade. But if they could manage to escape, they might truly have a chance to survive. At this critical moment, everyone chose to take their chances for the sake of survival."Think you can escape? Do you really think you can get away?" Abbas said coldly, his figure suddenly blurring as he shot forward like a gust of wind. The blood sword in his hand swung into motion, forming a flurry of crimson sword shadows. Then, waves of sharp sword energy surged forth, with Abbas's figure closely following the sword energy, moving at a speed that was no less swift. The sword energy tore through the crowd as if slicing through tofu, instantly severing several bodies. In a flash, blood and flesh were scattered everywhere. Amid the piercing screams, the powerful sword energy carved a gap through the mass of people. Some had their arms severed by the sword energy, while others lost their legs, with blood spurting like a fountain. Severed limbs spun through the air before landing on the ground. Some were cut in half at the waist, with only the upper half of their bodies still struggling.Others were cleaved cleanly in two from head to toe, without even a chance to scream. Brains, blood, organs, and other innards spilled out in a torrent, covering the ground in gore. The air thickened with the stench of blood. On every face was a single expression—a mixture of shock and overwhelming fear. They looked at Abbas as if he were a demon emerging from the depths of the abyss, trembling with dread. In the blink of an eye, over twenty people had perished under the blood sword. Blood flowed in rivers, and bodies lay strewn across the ground. Even Nasser Reza and Hina's faces turned a shade paler at the sight.Although Nasser Reza had killed before, the sheer bloodiness of this scene was too much for him to remain completely indifferent. He couldn't help but be shaken by the brutality unfolding before him.He hadn't expected Abbas to be even more ruthless than himself.Shirin, who had never witnessed such carnage, was even more overwhelmed. The overpowering stench of blood made her turn away, retching uncontrollably. As the sword energy tore through the crowd and continued its destructive path into the wall, Abbas suddenly appeared before the remaining survivors. The gruesome scene that had just unfolded did not affect him in the slightest. His expression remained unchanged, with intense killing intent radiating from his eyes.Seeing Abbas, who now seemed like the embodiment of death, everyone was filled with terror, dreading that they might be the next to fall victim to his sword and be torn apart."Spare us, young hero! Spare us! We're just followers; we had nothing to do with this. It was all Kamal's plot! We were not involved at all!" they pleaded, their voices trembling with fear.Someone suddenly dropped to their knees with a loud "thud," snot and tears streaming down their face. The bloody scene from moments ago had completely shattered their courage, and they began to beg for mercy."Spare your life? Weren't you all just praising Kamal moments ago? Did you ever consider sparing the four of us then?" Abbas retorted, his expression turning cold as the killing intent in his eyes grew even more intense. "Since you chose to follow Kamal, you should have been prepared to pay the price for that choice."As soon as the words left his mouth, a flurry of blood-red sword shadows enveloped everyone. Each shadow that appeared was accompanied by a spray of blood and a piercing scream.Abbas moved through the crowd with such speed that it was impossible to see how he wielded his sword. Figures fell to the ground one after another, blood flowed freely, severed limbs flew through the air, and heads rolled. Yet, Abbas showed no mercy, and his actions did not pause for a moment. Those who desecrate Hina shall die.Not only must Kamal die, but every participant must die as well.Sword light flickered, blood splattered, and in that moment, human life seemed utterly worthless.Slaughtering them was like slaughtering dogs.Moments later, in the vast courtyard, only Abbas, Nasser Reza, Hina, Shirin, and the frozen Kamal—who could only move his eyes—remained. There wasn't a single other living soul. The night was eerily silent. Who could have imagined that on such a quiet night, a bloody massacre would unfold in the governor's mansion?Abbas's body was splattered with blood, yet strangely, despite killing so many people, there wasn't a single drop of blood on the blood sword in his hand. It was as if the sword had never even been drawn.Or perhaps, the blood was absorbed by this sword.Hina and Shirin, both quick-witted, immediately noticed this, and the realization sent a chill through them. What kind of sword was this, capable of absorbing human blood?Nasser Reza, however, remained relatively calm. He recalled the time deep within Mount Damavand, inside the cave hidden behind the mountain's waterfall, when he accidentally cut his finger on the blade and almost got drained to the point of becoming a dried corpse."A fine blood sword," Abbas praised once more, as he began to slowly stride toward Kamal.Kamal's pupils contracted to the limit, his face contorted in a look of extreme terror. He had thought that after incapacitating Nasser Reza and Abbas, the two remaining girls would be at his mercy, easy to control and play with. But he had never expected that the seemingly delicate Hina possessed such formidable abilities. If he hadn't been so careless, everything might have turned out differently. But the world doesn't offer second chances, nor can time be rewound. What's done is done, and no matter how much Kamal regrets it, it's all in vain. The only thing awaiting him now is death.Abbas's footsteps echoed in Kamal's ears, each step seeming to press down on his heart. Kamal wanted to shout, to call for help, to beg for mercy, but the cold energy had frozen his jaw shut. He couldn't move, couldn't open his mouth, no matter how hard he tried. His lips were sealed tight by the frost, preventing any sound from escaping. He wanted to move, but he couldn't; he wanted to speak, but no words would come. All he could do was watch helplessly as Abbas, with the blood sword in hand, slowly approached him. He was powerless to stop the inevitable, forced to wait for the moment when the blade would slice across his throat, when his blood would spurt out in a final gush, marking the end of his life. But then again, with the cold seeping into his body, freezing even his blood, perhaps when the blade does strike, there won't be any blood at all.Kamal's expression could be described in four words: "terrified beyond belief." He knew death was inevitable, but his body was paralyzed, unable to move, with no way to escape. All he could do was wait for death, which left Kamal in utter despair. In the silent night, Abbas's footsteps sounded heavy, each step seemingly pounding on Kamal's heart. Gradually, Kamal's gaze became vacant; he had completely abandoned all hope of survival, his eyes as lifeless as those of the dead. The blood sword sliced across his throat, but Kamal appeared to feel no pain. His expression remained unchanged, and no blood spilled out.In the vast courtyard, aside from Abbas, Nasser Reza, Hina, and Shirin, there was no one else left alive. The cold indifference and murderous intent on Abbas's face finally began to fade. Looking at the three others, whose faces were slightly pale, his gaze softened. In a low voice, he said, "The scene was bloody, but we must learn to adapt because what awaits us in the future will be even more gruesome."Nasser Reza nodded, recalling the time when Hina had been gravely injured, nearly losing her life, due to a war they had been caught up in. He remembered Abbas's words from back then."If the wars in this world cannot be stopped, then I will become the god of this world," Abbas declared. "I will become this world's god, using force to crush the wars. Whoever instigates a war, I will kill."This was Abbas's dream, and it became Nasser Reza's dream as well.To realize this dream, the enemies who will die at their hands in the future will be a thousand, ten thousand times more than those whom Abbas has killed. So Abbas was right; they must adapt to such bloody scenes. Otherwise, how could they talk about becoming gods of this world and eradicating the world's evils?Only by advancing through bloody storms and growing amidst slaughter can they ultimately become gods of this world, making the world tremble, shiver, and be awed by their presence.Nasser Reza suddenly felt that Abbas's figure appeared to grow larger in his eyes, evoking a sense of admiration within him.At the same time, Nasser Reza's gaze underwent an inexplicable change, and his expression returned to normal. As he looked at the scattered limbs, severed body parts, and the pool of blood on the ground, his eyes conveyed a sense of indifference.Hina's expression remained icy, but the determination in her eyes revealed her resolve.Shirin's demeanor was still somewhat uneasy. Given her recent contact with Nasser Reza and the others and lacking their prior experiences, she was struggling to adjust.Although it was already late into the night, with hours still remaining before dawn, the events that had transpired left no room for rest. After Abbas had cleaned the bloodstains from his clothes and changed into a fresh outfit, the group left the lord's mansion. Before departing, Abbas severed Kamal's head, picked up a sharp knife, and, upon exiting the small town, mounted Kamal's head on a stake, nailing it to the city wall.
