"And I am drowning in the beauty of the creator, just by witnessing your eyes...................."
Vatsal:
You left your key in your hurry, Ms. Troublemaker. I’ve left mine to Garg Aunty. Take from her.
Good luck with your day. Don’t let those kids drive you crazy. 😉
Vatsal hit send, imagining the small smile that would play on her lips when she read it. He could almost see her rolling her eyes, pretending to be annoyed, but secretly embarrassed by her carelessness.
Back in the school, Shubhita felt her phone vibrate in her bag. She pulled it out, her heart skipping a beat when she saw Vatsal’s name on the screen. Reading his message, she couldn’t help but smile sheepishly, a warmth spreading through her as she typed out a quick reply.
Shubhita:
Oops!
But anyways thanks, Mr. Sleepyhead.
Try not to get too bored at work today. 😏
Vatsal:
Managed to survive the morning chaos?”
Shubhita:
Barely! But I made it in time.
And I’m not a troublemaker. You’re the one who nearly made me late!
He chuckled, imagining the playful glint in her eyes as she typed the message. It was amazing how easily their banter flowed, how natural it felt to tease each other, even over text.
Vatsal:
Guilty as charged. But I couldn’t help it—watching you wrestle with that saree was too entertaining.😌
He could almost see her rolling her eyes at that.
Shubhita:
Next time, maybe you could be a little more helpful instead of just watching?
Vatsal smiled, liking the idea more than he cared to admit.
Vatsal:
Deal. Next time, I’ll be at your service, Ma'am.
Just don’t blame me if you get distracted again.😬
There was a brief pause before her reply came through.
Shubhita:
Just shut up! 🙄
We’ll see about that. Now get back to your work, Mr. Distracted. I’ve got a classroom full of kids waiting for me.
She slipped her phone back into her bag, feeling lighter and more at ease. There was something about their playful exchanges that made the day ahead seem a little brighter. As the day continued, Shubhita’s thoughts drifted back to Vatsal, to the way he had looked at her with such tenderness in the morning.
She couldn’t deny that his presence in her life had brought a new kind of happiness, one that she hadn’t expected but had quickly come to cherish. The day might be busy, but she knew that no matter how hectic things got, the thought of being with Vatsal for her at the end of the day would keep her going.
As Shubhita made her way home, she reflected on the playful exchange she’d had with Vatsal earlier. His messages had been a bright spot in her day, and she couldn’t help but smile at the thought of their banter. It was one of those rare, uncomplicated joys that made her heart feel lighter.
She reached her apartment and unlocked the door, stepping inside to the familiar comfort of her home. After a long day of teaching, all she wanted was a quiet evening to unwind.
Shubhita had spent extra time getting ready, meticulously choosing her outfit and adjusting her hair. It wasn’t that she cared about impressing anyone, but today was different. The admiration filled look Vatsal had given her in the morning had stayed with her, fuelling a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
It was clear that their relationship was evolving. The easy camaraderie they shared, the way they could talk about anything and everything—it all felt so natural. She enjoyed how he challenged her and how they could make each other laugh. She reflected on how much she had grown to appreciate Vatsal’s presence in her life. Despite his occasional laziness, she found his company refreshing and comforting. His ability to bring out her lighter side was something she hadn’t expected but thoroughly enjoyed.
