I woke up at midnight, sat in front of my desk, with that same letter staring right back at me.
My parents were happy to see me back after so many days, I missed them as well. The dinner went lively as my brother joined us as well, Which was a very rare sight. He hardly comes home anymore. Gone by the time of breakfast and comes late in the night when we are already in bed.
It has become a daily routine for us. At first, it was sad to not see him around but eventually we got used to it.
After the heartily dinner, I headed towards my room to sleep.
Home sweet home.
But first, I've to text Meera. She's so inactive these days and I'm worried about her. I called her to know if she's fine, to which she replied she was just stressed about college.
Meera was majoring in engineering. I still remember the time when we just met and I was rambling about how confused i was about my career, but meera on the other hand, was always focused towards her goal. She told me that she made up her mind about pursuing engineering when she was just in high-school. I really admire her so much.
I promised Arsh to reach out to the editor as soon as I reached back home. I'm home now, but, for the very first time, fulfilling my promise seemed like a difficult task for me.
However, I did email the editor, that I'd respond back in a few days, that I need some time. The same boring story, the same excuse. But unlike every other time, this time I felt like, it was my last chance.
I bet she'd block me or something and never text me again!
I placed the letter aside, unable to handle it's taunting gaze.
I quickly opened my laptop, my fingers hovering over it's keys, I opened my drafts.
I usually write romcoms. Actually, ever since I discovered writing, I have only written about love.
A love story where a guy falls hopelessly in love with a girl or vice versa. Their love only increases with each passing day and then one day, finally, they get married.
The typical happily ever after.
But,this is what I loved the most. Some people get bored when they can predict the plot of the story but I loved it. I loved it when I knew that it was a happily ever after. I loved it when I knew that they are going to fall in love with each other soon. The same story, same plot, same ending. And i devoured it, every single time.
Be it a College romance, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers or friends to lovers, if there's love, deep feelings, worshipping, then there's no way in world that Amaya Arora wouldn't read that book or watch that film.
I've two draft stories with me that I want to publish. Or perhaps wanted.
The first one is about a boy who meets this girl in college and the very first time he saw her, he knew he was going to fall in love with her. A typical wholesome romcom.
